Cant say he is overrated. 19 years and 0 losing seasons speaks for itself.

It comes down to having a quarterback, and they never got that part right after Big Ben.

Honestly, it makes not having a losing record even more impressive.

Even late stage Ben was a stat padder and a locker room cancer.

They were a lot better when Ward and Polamalu were the straw that stirred the drink. Once Ben was the marquee player you didn't have good results in January.

If you look at the Jaguars playoff game it was statistically a good passing game, but he had a fumble that got run back and an interception that gave Jacksonville a short field. early Dug them into a 28-7 hole.

In 2020 he had 500 yards and 4 touchdowns against Cleveland...and 4 interceptions. The Browns scored touchdowns off the first two picks and got out to a 28-0 lead.

Bingo. Call him a CEO, call him a "system guy" whatever, but he's combined above average performance with significant longevity.

NFL franchises will take that 10/10 times. The Falcons have been searching for it for decades now

Where was he rated so we can assess if he is overrated or not?

Maybe overrated but surely he can’t be mediocre by definition

What a retarded take.

It was Tomlin's decision and to nobody's surprise the Steelers had inquiries within 24 hours.

I might be inclined to think that with Noll's retirement they said "It's time". Not with a coach who just won the division and has been making chicken salad for the past several years.

Black Jeff Fisher

This is a really dumb statement.

Jeff fisher went his last 7 years without a winning record and only had a winning season in 2 of his last 12 years.

Tomlin never was worse than .500 and made the playoffs 9 of his last 12 years.

If Tomlin was white he would have been fired 4 years ago.

The last time the Steelers fired a coach we hadn't landed on the moon yet.

If Tomlin was white Ryan Clark would say he's the most overrated coach ever and he should donate his salary to reparations

I’m not a huge fan of the CEO type of HC. Especially in the NFL. I want a schemer as coach. The other skills are less scarce.

I'm not saying these were unjustified, but as far as winning and entitlement go, hard to top the Tigers. They have fired 3 coaches in a row with winning records, 2 of whom won Natties (one Heisman between them) and the third also had a Heisman winner.

Wild to think every coach of Steelers has a ring

they’ve only had 3 coaches over the last 5 and a half decades plus. The more wild stat is the job security in the NFL as Steelers HC

As a Steelers fan who's entire family are Steelers fans and quite a few who are anti-Tomlin, this is true to an extent, but not to that level.

But your point is valid
