Dodgers trade OF Manuel Margot to the Twins for Single A SS prospect Noah Miller. This opens a roster space for IF/OF FA Kike Hernandez who resigned with the Dodgers today. Dodgers are also including Rayne Doncon, a minor league IF and sending cash to the Twins in the trade for Miller.

The Royals refuse to wear smaller names on the back.
quote:
The Kansas City Royals worked with the MLB and Nike, which changed the lettering on the jerseys to a smaller size, to maintain the full-size lettering on their team jerseys, according to Paul Lukas of UniWatch.
As Lukas notes, other MLB teams were not granted this exemption from the smaller letters—the Royals were because they had "lobbied hard" for it.
It begs the question: Why didn't more teams lobby for changes like the Royals did?

Good for them. The new uni styles are an abomination

Phillies fans are going to riot after Nike scrapped their chain stitching.

quote:
The Phillies and St. Louis Cardinals were the last of a dying breed in class and jersey perfection.
They have now been castrated by Nike but I guess Cards fans can be happy about the chain-linked embroidery remaining in-tact, right? Here in Philly, we’ve been massacred.
After getting a closer look at the new-look jerseys yesterday in Spring Training, Paul Lukas and the legends over at UniWatch broke the news that the Phillies’ front jersey script will no longer be two, chain-linked embroidered patches.
Instead, Nike is forcing the Phillies to switch things up and move forward with “tackle twill” (stitching on the outside of basically a fabric patch) instead of their signature chain-linked embroidered script we have seen in the past.

quote:Yes, and keep an eye on Jose Ramos too. Seems like he's figured some things out at the plate and his defense/arm were never in question.

The joke is on MLB and Nike when no one buys any of the new hideous jerseys.

I've noticed that Acuña has been doing a lot of interviews in English as well this spring after exclusively using an interpreter his entire career. I'm genuinely curious if that is MLB nudging them to do so because they can't market its two reigning MVP's if they use interpreters.

That’s racist and narrow minded
Learning English will not increase their market value
I’ll let your buddy there explain that to you as he did in a similar thread just last year
And yes, that’s dripping with sarcasm, and no, I’m not digging that thread up. LOL
