This is just funny. So everyone who was cheering for Kobe all those years and then crying about Kobe are now clutching their pearls about Bauer. The difference is Bauer never had to pay hush money and won in court unlike Kobe.

It’s not enough to argue about at this point, and maybe these offseason moves actually end up biting all these teams in the arse
My displeasure with it is premature and hypothetical

I don't understand the issue with the Yankees either. This is pretty much business as usual for them and what they've done is nothing on the scale of the Mets. This really only centers on one team.
Like I said, as a fan of a team that doesn't play them I think it's fascinating to watch and will be interesting to see what happens. I'm sure Mets fans are having a blast following it, I don't blame them.
My only concern if I were one of them is if Cohen gets bored/doesn't get the instant result he wants, does he keep it flowing. Perhaps he does, but if he doesn't there's a scenario where it gets very ugly very fast.

Still laughing because the Giants passed on Correa because of his ankle injury from 2014. Like wtf

Astros are a middle third team when it comes to market size, but the Angels are inept, the White Sox are mostly inept, and the A's aren't even trying.
LOL at the Astros comparison to the A’s
The A’s are a small fraction of the SF-Oakland-San Jose area. As an Astros fan, you must know the A’s are the bottom of the barrel in MLB merely by exposure.

Most people in this thread are saying they do not like this for baseball

Kobe was a god in that town and the face of the franchise with multiple rings at the point. Bauer is a good SP, but he had a FIP under 4 once in the last five years and it wasn't even with the Dodgers. That's the difference. Might be a different story if it was Kershaw, but Bauer probably isn't worth the baggage for the Dodgers.

MLB only has 6 owners worth less than 1 billion (Brewers, Marlins, Rays, Reds, DBacks, & Rockies) only 1 owner worth less than 500 million (Reds)

Also Kobe was pre #metoo and pre Harvey Weinstein. It’s a different time now.

It's just a fact that the bay area is a bigger market than Houston. Also a fact that the A's are the red headed step child of the bay area, and it's tough to gather any support for a team not trying to win. The Astros didn't have shite for attendance when they were tanking, but it has paid off.

Maybe I was looking at bad info... Wikipedia link that has Houston 8th behind the bay area.
Toronto is pretty high as well even though they aren't on these lists.

The poorest owner in the league as well as the cheapest. That's why he needs to sell the team.

Looks like Conforto to the Giants.
