Cole is gone.
Probably to the Angels so now you have to face him a handful of times every year.

Did he really say that?

Gerrit Cole, an impending free agent, was resistant to talk after Game 7. “I’m not an employee of the team,” he said to an Astros spokesperson. “I guess as a representative of myself...” Then he spoke.

Astros have to replace Cole and Miley
Rotation could be Verlander, Greinke Urquindy, McHugh, and Whitley

Not as bad as the passive aggressive melting you’ve done all postseason about how the “Astros were an all time favorite”

I still can’t believe Hinch didn’t go to him

I’m so glad that hunch burned any thoughts of a “hometown” discount to the organization

I mean, he was a victim of shitty circumstance. Hinch didn't want to bring him in in the middle of an inning, so he did what he has done 100 times this year, which was bring Harris in with a runner on base. Harris didn't make a shitty pitch, but it got hit off the foul pole. Where exactly was Hinch supposed to put Cole in?

This MFer showing up NOW after 5 years after talking so much shite about the Astros just for that?
My prediction is nothing to the absolute shite you talked once upon a time.

In the damn ninth inning to preserve a reasonable 2 run deficit rather than a ridiculous 4 run when the guy isn’t goin to pitch for months and your other options are joe smith and Jose urquidy
How about then?

Turning point of the game was the walk to Soto. It didn’t have to be but hinch panicked. There were still 11 outs to get and our reliable bullpen had been whittled down basically two guys smith/Harris and there was no way they were going to get all 11. Greinke didn’t look tired in fact he got hosed by the ump in a big way. I thought it was over when he pulled him for Harris..and the nats got their late inning magic going again. Hinch just doesn’t have a feel for how to stop the mojo. Sending a guy out there who got their rally started the night before in a similar situation was such a massive mistake. I’ll bet the nats were absolutely stoked to see greinke leave and Harris come in the game. Gave them the boost they needed and then it was all downhill. Greinke should have been given the opportunity to get out of it, and then cole should have been given a chance to clamp it down. Who knows maybe we win 2-1 if he follows that plan.

It’s amazing to me that everyone is just ignoring the offensive issues. Crazy. The Astros had ample opportunities to more runs on the board and change the ball game early, and they absolutely, completely failed.
