Lebron would cry like a bitch if he played in that era.

Head-in-arse take. It would have been more like Sweet River Baines when he played for the Globetrotters.

Who cares that Laimbeer’s talentless arse tried to hurt people? Anyone can do that.

Talentless ? Yeah you don’t know much about a 4x all star and a league rebounding champion.

Dirty ? Why yes.

While we get to see how shitty the NBA has become in real time

A lot of it is survivorship bias as well. We only see highlights from that era, not all the shitty moments.

Also...today with the endless sports news cycle and more games on TV we get to see even the mediocre and bad teams play more. In the 80s and 90s were the mediocre and bad teams were never on TV, and the 90s and early 2000s expansion further diluted the horrible overall talent levels. Even the bad teams today have talent light years better than most of the 80s and 90s NBA except for the top teams.

Difference b/t that fight and one you would see today...Instead of breaking up the fighters, more punches would be thrown by those not originally involved. The culture and respect has changed.

They really, really do.

I feel like they’re just trolling to get a serious response to the Lebron would die if he played back in the day stuff. But then I realize they’re serious.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve become so fricking disappointed in the older generations. They’re intellectually dishonest.

Baw that’s literally every pick up game at LAF and it’s annoying as frick. Talking shite is part of the game but stopping play over shite is just dumb. If you want fights watch the NHL or MMA.

This is so over the top melodramatic. How do you get through a day in this hard and disappointing world?

It’s obvious we should just trust a young person who has watched some YouTube videos rather than those who lived though both eras. You literally have NBA guys talk about how greats form the past would average into the 40s, but we should absolutely trust a millennial or GenZer who can access A message board.

Basketball is the only sport where people have gotten less athletic, dumber, and just worse in general over time.

Don’t watch games for proof. Just go off your memory.

Don’t listen to players.

They’re not even close to capable of ranking or properly discussing their peers or different eras.

Any combination of the old school would destroy any combination of the new school all stars. Lambieer vs Draymont Green for example. MJ vs Curry. Etc

Don’t you know that Lebron James wouldn’t be able to move around a court back then bc of hand checking?

Totally don’t watch the games and notice it’s a bunch of skinny nerds standing around not doing much at all. Just know Lebron would get hand checked into being just a so-so basketball player.

They’re close in height and I’m sure Lebron was heavier than Bill’s 245. Lebron would abuse those guys.

You’re assuming Lebron’s body would be the same in a different era. Lebrun would likely weigh 25-30 lbs less without all the advancements in “nutrition.”

All these things can be true.

LeBron is one of the most if not the most gifted athletes ever seen.

LeBron would not be AS successful in the 90's as today because of the nature of the rules.

LeBron is a bitch.

I really enjoyed the 90s nba, but the old heads talking about how bad the modern game are are just wrong. The players on average are much better in today's game.

Regardless, noone is spending their lives watching reruns of the 1993 season for 82 games a year. Not even the guys that played back then.

Don’t get annoyed that I recognize y’all are too ridiculous to even have a conversation about this shite.

Y’all don’t even have the patience to talk about how limited defenses were back in the day and what teams can now do to shape games/performances of stars.

Also you have to realize the talent pools the NBA pulls from nowadays is infinitely better than it used to be. Especially compared to the watered down expansion shite MJ was up against. There are plenty videos of players back then explaining how watered down their league had become.

Lebron is probably the GOAT. He’d be ever better if he got to play in the 90s, imo. If MJ played today there’s no way on earth he’d be looked at as the GOAT like the media and Nike brainwashed y’all into thinking.
