MLB knew that Ohtani was betting on games, but because he's the worldwide star that he is, they found a fall guy and turned a blind eye.
yet Rose, the all time hit leader is demonized by them.

His survivors should decline, The HOF is as useless as tits on a boar hog anyway.

Now he’ll get voted in
Shoeless Joe Jackson still isn't in, and the extent of his involvement in the World Series fix isn't even clear.
Never underestimate the sanctimony of HOF voters.

Again, what survivors? He was pretty much alone in the world at the end, his first set of kids at least would have nothing to do with him and Kiara Kim dumped him years ago.

People stop at Joe Jackson’s batting average in the 1919 World Series.
Go compare what he did in the games the White Sox were trying to win against what he did in the games they were trying to lose. There was a massive difference.
That’s what people fail to comprehend about that Series. The White Sox weren’t trying to throw every game, they were trying to manipulate the betting line.
Look at Jackson’s defensive performance in that Series, particularly the two-run triple that was hit past him in Game 2 that gave Cincinnati its winning runs. Do you know how hard it is to triple to left field, especially in a park with a short left field like Crosley Field?
The evidence against Jackson is as strong as that against Cain, if not Judas Iscariot. He said he did it, why not take him at his word?
But the biggest thing is fans think he was some practically drooling mentally challenged moron who was taken advantage of. He wasn’t. He was country smart, owned and ran three successful businesses in South Carolina after getting kicked out of baseball and died with plenty of money in the bank.
He just couldn’t read or write, which was not uncommon in the rural Deep South then or later. Ever heard of Morgan Shepherd, won four NASCAR Cup races, won as late as 1993? He can’t read or write. Neither could Suitcase Jake Elder, crew chief for 44 wins and three Cup championships, but they were both country smart like Jackson, who shouldn’t be in Cooperstown either.

If the gambling doesn’t keep him out or being an a-hole his entire life doesn’t, then fricking a 14 year old probably should be the reason he doesn’t make the hall

The author of the most recent biography of Rose … which was very good and contained all the positives and all the negatives … quoted his first wife Karolyn, who said she still loved Pete, as saying that his first two kids were estranged from him and that she was pleading with them to be there when he died, as she planned to do, so he wouldn’t die alone.
