re: Playoff committee got it right

The scheduling imbalances mean we either need to ditch conference title games or stop weighing championship game participation so heavily. I wish we'd just go back to BCS standings. It doesn't rid of you of the Alabama problem this year, but it's much more palatable than the committee nonsense.
2025 was a weird outlier with JMU & Tulane occupying spots.

Yes they were, go look at the fricking standings. Jesus, it's hard dealing with stupid people

Cause of some dumb tie breaker BS. It’s the same as duke making the ACC championship. They should have been eliminated from the SEC championship and playoffs immediately upon losing to FSU, who is worse than any other playoff team lost to, by far.

Or any team that was right outside the playoff picture

The last decade is irrelevant when it comes to the 12 team playoff

No you're trying to make arguments over the ACC when the 12 team playoff is brand new

When you have 16 teams, no divisions, and an 8 game schedule the conference standings don’t mean much. Do you honestly think Bama was the best team in the SEC?

My man, Bama wasn't good and it showed. Nothing to knight for here.

But they were sitting at home… Alabama would have liked to also but they had to play. It’s not like they asked to

Forgot about that one. UTSA was always winning that one though. Playing at the Alamo dome is different

Nd could have easily made it to finals as well. They were very dangerous. Never been a fan of them but give them credit this year. It’s so odd the one time they maybe were real contenders and get left out.
Oh well get a real schedule.

conference championship games need to go away
Agreed but does anyone see the SEC or any conference giving up that money?

Miami clearly belonged, how many of the 5 SEC teams did?
3. Not Alabama or Oklahoma

Even if Miami doesn't win it all. They've basically solidified that we will never go back to the 4-team playoff ever again, as some would want.

For all the "games have to matter folks" justify putting in a 3 loss team over a 2 loss team.
I hate Bama as much as the next guy, but this is disingenuous. Bama's 3rd loss came in a conference championship game. A conference championship game that ND could never play in because they don't participate in a conference. If Bama wasn't in a conference (or even if they lost the tiebreaker to qualify for the conference championship game), they would've only had 2 losses before the playoff.

They put in two teams worse than ND (Alabama and Oklahoma) so they did not get it right.
Texas & ND should have taken their place.

Lmao at the butthurt Notre Dame fan still having to cope after Miami makes the natty
Correct. Anyone on this board who’s a fan of a team that could’ve legitimately won a championship but didn’t get the opportunity over at least four teams that were worse (two due to a dumb format, and two due to poor committee decisions) would be coping through the playoff’s end.

I (unfortunately for me, given their Meyer/Day run) haven’t been an OSU fan since the end of the Jim Tressel era haha. Just can’t change the name.
