Im not necessarily saying its the majority defending him, im just wondering if those that are defending him would defend someone like TM.

i wish somebody would post a video of all the times that sherman defended crabtree in this game. Let's see if Sherman specifically looked good against crabtree.

He defended two passes all night. One was flagged for holding by him. The other was the one at the end of the game. For a corner, that says enough about how well he did.

He got a 24 on the wonderlic from someone who thinks he's so smart, that's pretty low for a 'stanford graduate'

When has he brought up his Stanford education? He is arrogant because he thinks he's the best CB in the league. Maybe he is and maybe he isn't but that type of ego isn't uncommon in people who believe they are the best.

Sherman isn't paid to be classy (an idiotic thing to have in football) or to repeat cliches after every game or to be a role model for children. He's paid to play football, and he's literally one of the best in the world at his position. If I was one of the best in the world in my chosen profession I sure as hell would be arrogant, and I certainly would work my arse off to make sure I could back that belief up.

I'm beginning to think that the sensibilities he upset was the notion of honor, a dream that lots of people cling to about how the best should behave, humble despite the fact they know they are the best.

How about in this interview where he outdouched Skip Bayless?

like I said, I'd like to see all the times he was matched up against crabtree. not the times he actually defended a pass.

This.

These are literally the best football players in the nation. Every. Last. One. of them is cocky, including your favorite player. Whether he says it outright like Sherman or masks it with platitudes and coach speak.

Nah, this whole kerfuffle has actually made me a big fan of his, after doing some research on the guy.

Yeah, I only read the last page of this thread, so I really do not know what is going on in here.

Sherman's act is a little too much. I think he is a great player, but I would rather have Haden or Talib on my squad because I would be afraid of Sherman costing my team penalty yards.

The criticism is only because when presented with the opportunity to be celebrate and share the moment with his teammates, he chose to make the spotlight about himself and a feud with Crabtree.

For about 60 seconds WHILE he was being asked pointed questions about HIM by the interviewer.

SOSELFISHOHMAHGAWDZ!!!

I'm sure he totally ignored his teammates after that and in the locker room... I guess that's why he's so unpopular their.

Why don't all of you "Sherman's just classless" crowd just admit it; You don't want to see how football players really speak. You want the status quo "We just take it one game at a time, we respect our opponent, it was a hell of a competition" PC rerun crap that we always hear. Guess what, that's fake crap that's taught to athletes so that the final product is fit for mass consumption. That's not how they interact with each other. That's not how they live. These are competitors, they talk crap, they're hyper competitive. How Sherman responded is a lot closer to reality than the "class" BS that you want to see.

You say on one hand you want candor but when you see it, you don't like it.

You want appearances, you don't want reality. I suppose that falls in line with the majority of the fake society anyway.

P. Schrager ?@PSchrags 3m
Just learned that both Michael Crabtree and Richard Sherman were wired for sound yesterday. All on @insidetheNFL , Wed 9 pm EST on Showtime.

somehow, I feel the need to hear about what was actually said.

as sad as that is.

So I just watched this for the first time and I'm wondering what the fuss is all about. It's not long enough to be a rant. It's not even decent trash talk. It's not controversial. What's the problem? Reminds me of a post boxing match interview after a fight between bitter rivals.
