If you look at the standings right now, to me it would be a more interesting final month of the season with the previous format of 3 division winners and 1 wildcard. I would rather have the Yankees, Red Sox and mariners fighting over one wildcard spot down the stretch. Same goes for the cubs, padres and Mets in the NL

Of course, but this is not what happens. TV money is the only thing that matters in each league which is why every playoff only expands. I except they will expand it again to 8 teams a league when they add two teams

I like the 10 team with single wildcard game.

If they want to make it more fair, maybe give the leading wildcard team a run advantage equal to the number of games ahead they are.

No, they should go back to 4.

I can't wait to go to 16 and have the most useless regular season in all of sports.

Also, get off my lawn.

They should go to about 120 games a year. Quit playing so many mid week games and definitely no day games mid week.

That would be football… imagine busting everyone’s arse all year to be the #1 seed with home field to the Super Bowl and then a couple bad bounces have you down 21-0 after one quarter in the playoffs

The other sports are decided in series which are a little better

The only thing good about the current system is more teams are still invested in trying to make the post season.

The fewer Nationals vs Rockies type series the better. Post season baseball, when every pitch matters. is awesome.

I like this the best as well because I don't think a wild card team should be treated like a division winner.

I hate the format now where the worst division record has become the first Wild Card and now have to burn their pitching in a best of three series.

Two divisions and straight to an LCS is my preferred playoff

I really do wish there was something in place to give teams more of an advantage. I've backed off my fandom significantly since the 2023 Braves got bounced in the 1st damn round. Just left an awful taste in my mouth.

It sucks seeing the longest regular season in sports come down to a 3-5 game series. Especially in one of the most volatile sports where the worst teams beat the best very frequently.

No. I like the expanded playoffs in all the leagues. The seasons in all the leagues are just too long. Creates lot of games that mean nothing, players sitting out and increases injuries.

Of course it’ll never happen. Too much money involved.

For Maximum TV exposure, they could just go the LHSAA route where every school qualifies for the playoffs and the higher seeds get byes. That might extend the playoffs to December...LOL.

But like you said, that would make the regular season useless and meaningless and don't tell Jim Mora I said that.

I've never seen so many people advocate for less sports to watch than the MSB. Sad.

they should go back to the two team playoff and make winning the pennant mean more and maybe people would care about regular season

If Wrigley still didn't have lights, and were still on a national TV station, I'd argue with you. There wasn't a much better reason for taking off early, than to go home & watch the Cubs.

Could be the NBA where you are literally a minority if you miss the playoffs
