I know it wouldn't be 8 schools, but former Tulane quarterback Justin Ibieta could have had 9 years, possibly 10.

2020 - Covid, didn't count
2021 - Only played in 2 games, tore his labrum, medical redshirt
2022 - Only played in 4 games, tore his labrum, medical redshirt
2023 - Only played in two games, tore every ligament in his knee in the bowl game, medical redshirt

Medically retired at this point, but could have easily continued down this path:

2024 - Miss the season due to bowl game injury, medical redshirt
2025 - Redshirt Freshman year
2026 - Redshirt Sophomore year
2027 - Redshirt Junior year
2028 - Redshirt Senior year

You could even argue he had a real redshirt year to add onto that if he tried

Let’s see. He graduated from his third stop, Auburn. Since then it’s four more schools. How is this even possible? In “graduate” school at four different places? Such lunacy., Incarnate what?

This should have been predictable as his pre-college days were similar.

Hammond Eastside > Ponchatoula Jr High > Hammond Jr High > St. Thomas Aquinas > Ponchatoula High.

Hank Tierney keeping him around for 3 years deserves its own trophy.

he got his JD this past season while off the team at Georgia State. Sat for the La bar exam in July but failed.

Now starting medical school at Incarnate Word this fall.

Working down the ladder

You're not kidding. With the exception of Texas State to Tulane, every single time he's changed teams he's going somewhere worse. He'll be playing for some small rural high school next year at this rate.
