Presti has been in this all along. Good for him

So that's two teams that offered them 4 first rounders. Amazing.

Jimmy Butler and Paul George both to the West?
fricking pencil Cleveland in for 6 more Finals.

They are something. They are talented players
Golden state built a super team thru the draft. There are a lot of ways to get there.

I think he was saying PG/JB on a different East team would change the odds

Neither 5'9 Isiah Thomas nor Derozan will be stopping Lebron James any time soon.

I thought about that way at first too, but you gotta consider if one of them ends up with Celtics instead. Agreed that it doesn't change if they stay with Pacers and Bulls

you have basically resigned yourself hoping that your young assets develop to compete in a post lebron eastern conference
Why is this a bad thing? Why flounder trying to make it to the top when you can wait a couple years and have a stranglehold on the conference

they also built their super team because they got lucky as frick when it came to stephs ankles
sure, it could happen, i would just rather be in a position to compete right the frick now than hope i can compete 2 or 3 years from now

Honest question:
If PG stays put in OKC and LAL is stuck with a B lister instead of an A lister, how is the DLO trade graded?

This is one of the softest times even for the East. The only team you really gotta compete against is the Cavs, and they are 100% beatable.
If you're not trying to compete in the East now, then you're never going to compete because there is always going to be another good team you must beat.
Waiting for a totally clear path to the Finals is a pipe dream.

Well that's always a risk. That's a risk with FAs as well. Guys don't always pan out. But with Boston having 372947103 lottery picks in the coming years, someone's bound to work out.

They would be awesome. But Lebron would still have a lot to say about the East. Best case scenario you win the east 50 percent of the time over the next 4-6 years.
If you wait and your picks hit, you could be in Clevelands current position with 7 straight finals appearances or some crazy shite like that.

Lebron or Embiid/Greek Freak
Who would you rather go against

Lebron is a generational player. One that's getting older. I'll take my chances in a couple years on his downswing instead of when he's still owning the league.
And I'm not saying they 100 percent shouldn't make moves, just I wouldn't make a move just to rush the process on competing. That time will come with or without George/Butler.

Lebron or Embiid/Greek Freak
