Considering how those original options look pretty terrible, they should just remove the Washington name and call themselves the D.C. Dragons. That’s more of a soccer thing but it’s a better nickname than most.

I went to Dutchtown so I immediately think of that. But Dutchtown made sense since P'ville Middle was the Panthers and Dutchtown Middle was the Eagles so Griffins came out of the combination. Dunno what connotation a griffin would be to DC.
