He did have one winning season without Brady.

Sure but your theory on protecting Belichek has two glaring weaknesses:
1.) he pushed Brady out. Furthermore, did a shite job trying to keep him happy
2.) he had YEARS to develop a decent back up to Brady. Traded them all away.
3) He was 36-44 in Cleveland and has a losing record in New England. (Post Brady.)
Meanwhile Mike Tomlin managed a .500 season with Mason Rudolph and Duck Hodges.

Belichick is not a fraud, he’s a good coach. No crappy coach wins that much even with a hall of famer. Manning, Brees, Aikman, hell look at Marino. Those guys didn’t have the success Brady did.
But I’m just also not sure he’s the best coach ever anymore, take Brady away and he’s closer to avg. HOF coach though? Absolutely

know this may blow your mind but every great NFL dynasty had a hall of fame quarterback. Another crazy idea, it’s easier to win with HOF QBs.
I just want to see a list of all the coaches winning big with scrubs.
This is why a solid argument could be made for Joe Gibbs as the greatest NFL coach of all time. Won 3 Superbowls with 3 different QBs, none of which made it to the hall of Fame.

i wouldn't call their starting qbs scrubs, but
joe gibbs

Half a game out of first place, in the division, with a rookie qb.
Fraud!

The Redskins dynasty went to 4 SBs & won 3 without a HOF QB. Gibbs took an 8 year veteran who had never been to the playoffs ( Theismann) & went to 2 SBs. Won 2 more with Doug Williams, Mark Rypien & an NFC Championship game with Jay Schroeder.
Gibbs Came out of retirement & took Jason Campbell & Todd Collins to the playoffs.
I was going to post this if you hadn't. Gibbs won three Super Bowls with three different QB's (and none being HOF caliber). One of the most impressive coaching accomplishments in football history, IMO.

Yea and there was a time where you didn’t need a HOF caliber QB to win the Super Bowl. People seem to forget that

Obviously this goes both ways, but they are ridiculously close to being 7-2 right now

They lost to the Dolphins in Week 1 17-16 because they fumbled inside the Miami 10-yard line late in the 4th quarter.
They hit the upright on a go-ahead FG attempt late in the 4th quarter against Tampa.
They lost to the Cowboys in overtime.
You could make a case that they're a handful of plays away from being 8-1.

Exactly. With the reverse being that they needed a big comeback to beat the Texans and the Chargers game could have gone either way.
But in the end, a team thats 4-0 on the road with a rookie quarterback is probably pretty well coached. The Belichick hate last month was silly

He's got a bunch of spare parts for a team and has them 5-4 on an upward trajectory. I'd say this has probably been his best coaching job in a while.
How many offensive players on this team would start for other winning teams?

This may be Bill B's 2nd playoff appearance in 9 seasons without Brady ( and an expanded wild card) if they can keep this up. Bill B slurpers think that we are judging him by a few games which isn't the case.
