It’s going to take multiple bad years before they consider firing Dabo.

He’s accurately pointed out that he’s won the ACC 8 times in 10 seasons and was in the playoffs last year.

I do agree with him that it’s amazing how spoiled their fans are .

How are they spoiled? Dabo’s compensation has matched his success, and Clemson invested a lot in facilities and staff pay to make the glory years happen.

Being spoiled is getting something you don’t really deserve, but Clemson spared no expense in paying Dabo and giving him the resources he needed to win. But now Dabo isn’t delivering anywhere close to the level of his salary. He’s the third highest paid coach in CFB and CU hasn’t played like a top three team in a long time.

Dabo won the ACC and made the championship last year.
Gundy was the worst team in the worst P4 conference last year.

This is my issue with him crying about being better than 90% of other teams. You shouldn’t have taken a raise that indicates you’re a top 1-2 coach if you weren’t ready to be held to that. The absolute best coaches don’t dodge those expectations.

Gundy’s tenure at Oklahoma State has been running out of steam for several years. It officially died last night.

Unless he quits, Dabo will be the head coach at Clemson next year.

It’s Gundy not even a question. But maybe they let him “step away” since he’s an alum and has been there so long.

He looks so disinterested on the sideline. And it seems like he’s made it pretty well known that he doesn’t care much for the current state of college football or its athletes.

I think the OANN shirt bullshite was the final straw for him.

Now, I don’t particularly think Dabo is a great football minded head coach, great program builder, but from a pure football standpoint I don’t think Dabo has a clue what to do.

I am in the camp that thinks they will let Gundy coach out the season, unless Gundy says to hell with it all and decides to just go ahead and shut it down whenever they pull the trigger

That's possible. I don't think Dabo is getting fired this year. He was in the playoffs last year and has done too much for one bad year. Napier should have been fired 2 years ago, but I think he'll finish out the season at the very least.

Even in the loss to Syracuse, Klub didn't play poorly.

1) I don’t think he will be (or should be) fired after this season even if the disaster continues. However, I don’t think Clemson can afford to fire him even if they want to because of his contract.

2) I think one thing Dabo needs is some humility because Clemson owes him nothing. He was given the job when he didn’t have the resume for it, they stuck with him through some growing pains (including a five game losing streak to USCe), and they paid him when he became successful.

Right now, Dabo is the third highest paid HC, Garrett Riley is the third highest paid OC, and Tom Allen is the seventh highest paid DC. And they are probably paying off Streeter and Goodwin that Dabo fired in the last couple of years. Dabo himself hasn’t had a lot of tolerance for coaches who underperform. He canned Kevin Steele after the Orange Bowl debacle against WVU before hiring Venables.

Clemson isn’t getting their money’s worth and really haven’t for a while now. Being in the ACC has definitely masked some of the exposure because they play a lot of shitty teams and can win championships, make the playoffs, and can keep some of these streaks of X number of years with X of wins alive without being elite anymore. But now they’re being exposed even in the ACC.

If Dabo doesn’t think he or Clemson is capable of competing for national championships in the current era, then maybe he needs to volunteer for a pay cut because that’s the level his salary is at.

Some Clemson fan that wants Dabo fired is downvoting every post that is accurately pointing out that Dabo is not going anywhere.

To be clear, I think most of us non-Clemson fans would love nothing more than to see that self-righteous asshat unceremoniously dismissed and fall into obscurity.

However, real life is real life. Gundy has been terrible for a minute. Dabo has a recent resume…an increasingly irrelevant one, but a resume nonetheless and that buys anyone at least one terrible year.

I’d encourage that downvoter to be more patient and less angry.

Dabo never gets fired unless he gets caught in bed with a live boy or a dead girl.

If Dabo continues to brush off nil and portal, he should be fired asap
