How many 9th graders are giving a 5a select school a serious advantage?

Split had nothing to do with CHS. They have been against it since day 1.

Split was created by public schools who were tired of John Curtis and Evangel.

Because orange and black is the best color scheme in the state. Everyone loves Halloween and Catholic gets to own it.

No hate for Catholic here.

How can you hate someone you whipped 52-10 after they talked so much trash leading up to that?!

You played on that Ruston team?

I don't remember a bunch of trash talking, but I was only a sophmore on the CHS team who didn't know his arse from a hole in the ground at the time. So maybe "we" did.

Trash talk or not, we were getting steamrolled in that game. Lol

I went to Catholic. Yes this is true of some people, but not most. I have stepped foot on that campus maybe 2 times since I’ve graduated and that is the same for most of my friends.

Yes the Moscona/McMakin types are insufferable, but what people don’t realize is that Catholic is a huge school and there were as many blue collar middle class baws as there were daddy’s money pricks. I feel like Episcopal would probably have more super rich kids.

I’m not sure of your point. I often confuse CHS with a number of schools and this is your first year in or back in the Catholic league thus the person may have been confused..

Nothing against the actual school or Matt Moscona

Remember a few years ago when Catholic got busted by the LHSAA for cheating, he melted down like a 5 year old.

Want to be “in district” is no problem, because you just need to be part of the diocese.
you have any clue as to the number of kids whose guardians are lying about where they live so they can go to a certain (non private school and be eligible).

the number might shock you.

Split was created by public schools who were tired of John Curtis and Evangel.
The split was created by the 1A and 2A schools combined with B and C who for 10 years had JC and ECA forced down on them because of the play in class rule - they went down to 1A and 2A - no school not named JC or ECA won state in football during that time they were in either class including their 1 year in 3a.

As many AD's Coaches and principals openly said when they voted for the "play in class rule" they basically voted for the split and very weak LHSAA leader ship at that time and when the split vote came gave us what we have had since 2014. B and C vote for the split because they were bullied with getting combined...

AND MAKE NO MISTAKE ABOUT IT - more than half of the group of principals that pushed and sold play in class - were private schools.

and those private schools were pretty much the reason when privates had meetings after the split about forming their own association - went NOWHERE. The other screwup was how long it took all magnet, open enrollment and charter schools to all be lumped in select - which is the one thing that could end or greatly reduce the split.

5A wouldn’t end the split when given a chance a few years ago and then the state of Alabama voted to split… too many people like it too much now and a district play split is next. Mr. Schneider is probably drawing it up right now
