Something I'm not sure I've ever seen done as good is how Bradley Cooper was able to use the camera to show so much emotion without having to rely on words to express them
Of all the exceptionally good examples of that in this movie, I think my favorite was when he called Ally out on to the stage with him the first time to sing Shallow and for most of it you either got a tight shot of her singing and emotionally reacting to the moment, or shots of him watching her sing. Despite the fact that you knew how big a stage it was, that tight shot made it incredibly intimate and you could see her fear, excitement, etc. It wasn't until the tail end of the song that he went to a shot behind her to her left to where you could see the stage and the crowd and suddenly got to see what she was having to look at as she walked out there.
Saw it Saturday night and still running this movie through my mind...
Oh...the soundtrack is also incredible. Downloaded it and was listening to it while cutting grass Sunday morning and was caught off guard during the final rendition of I'll Never Love Again as it cut from her version on stage where you can her her crying AS she's singing directly to the scene of him and her sitting at the piano with him singing it to her. Stupid grass must have flown into my eye right then...

The dog “Charlie” is actually Bradley Cooper’s dog.
During the scene when they are playing in the yard and he picks the dog up, I thought to myself that they were lucky the dog didn’t bite him. Makes sense now.

Saw this yesterday. Thought it was awesome...loved it. Cooper was great. Gaga was great. The music was great.
This should win some awards, and deservedly so.
And I wondered if that was ADC. He looked SO familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on it because he looked like he resembled someone famous.

I have piping hot take about this movie.
I'll Never Love Again is more emotionally impactful than My Heart Will Go On, and Lady Gaga's vocals in the song rival/perhaps surpass Celine's.

Cooper was phenomenal. Like Nick Cage in Leaving Las Vegas. Gaga and Elliot's performances were super solid.
But that had to be the worst editing storytelling-wise I have ever seen.
Spoilers:
Every fricking thing happened off-camera or was told in in fricking exposition (all scenes after the detailed character introductions from the bar/parking lot).
...Kiss, cut, lay down in bed, cut, breakfast, cut, dance rehearsal, cut, exec says she hit #1, cut, new hair color reaction, cut, gets grammy nomination news, cut, looking backstage for husband for duet on tour, cut, friend finds drunk husband on curb, cut, wife retrieves husband, cut, etc....
It was like gesture storytelling. Almost like a fricking montage-filled movie. This could have been a masterpiece, with all the Oscar level acting, but the editing choices ruined it for me.

maybe 10 people in the theater with them at Perkins Rowe. Good but not great.

It’s easy to overlook how absurdly talented she is.
I can't name a current female singer with a better voice.

when she punches the guy wanting Jackson's picture at the bar. Seemed out of place for her character especially considering she had just met Jackson.
But then we go on to see her have a similar reaction to the woman at the checkout counter who "stole" a pic of Jackson. And meet her father and realize that she has always hated her dad's obsession with celebrity. They were setting up her character as an almost anti-celebrity, making her quick rise to stardom all the more poignant.

I do agree that the editing was a little weird at times, even distracting. But it didn't bother me too much and I certainly still loved it.
I did think they kinda glossed over her rise to fame and fortune though. That was something that I thought was a little strange. It's like all of a sudden, 15 minutes later, she's this giant superstar. I just assumed they had to advance it quickly to get to the rest of the story.

I thought several times during the movie “that looks a lot like Dice”........
When the credits rolled, I was like “SOB that was Dice Clay!!”
I did exactly the same.

The movie was fantastic.
The most striking thing for me: Cooper puts a COOKED STEAK in front of Charlie the dog and he has to be told it's okay to eat it before he'll approach it. Jesus Christ, is there an Oscar for "Best Good Boy in a Motion Picture"?

It wasn’t worst I’ve ever seen bad, but yes the storytelling was my main complaint of the movie

Late to the party, but I loved it.
Cooper fricking nailed his role.
It was hard to watch at some points with the drinking and the drug use though.

Spoiler..
The Grammys was the most uncomfortable I have been watching a movie in quite a while, it was just a Trainwreck you saw coming and couldn't do anything to stop it
