Yeah as odd as the show was at the end, the finale was excellent.

A lot of options to pick from;

GoT- Hardhome was great. Tyrion verbally jousting with Dany, and the Night King wiping out the Wildlings. My brother hasn't watched this series, and he sat and watched this episode with me. He commented that singular episode was better than a lot of movies he'd seen, in terms of epic battles and intelligent dialogue.

Lots of older series have epic moments-
WKRP in Cincinnati had some brilliant episodes. Thanksgiving (Les Nessman's on-the-scene reporting of the turkey drop was SO awesome )
The phone gestapo episode was gold too!

If you count Band of Brothers, then quite a few individual episodes match any war movie.

Lost - Pilot (maybe the GOAT pilot of all time)
Community - Modern Warfare
Scrubs - "My lunch" and "My Fallen Idol"

Here are a few of my favorite

Fly is the worst BB episode, and it's not even close.

agreed. it was BB's attempt at a pine barrens type episode and it failed miserably imo. it's the most polarizing episode in the entire series as there are many people that love it.

'4 Days Out' has more of a 'Pine Barrens' feel to it, and it's far better than 'Fly,' which was honestly just made to save money.

Magnum PI- dont eat the snow in Hawaii-

This was the pilot - (2 parts), and before they added the stupid comedy aspect.

Honorable mention:
season 1, ep 3 china doll
The Ivan episode - you know the one- season 3 ep 1 and 2

Fly and pine barrens were both filler episodes that could have never existed and wouldn't have messed up the continuity of either show. Furthermore, the fly was the equivalent of the Russian interior decorator.

The only difference is that pine barrens was fricking awesome.

Too many good ones to pick between Spartacus episodes, Vikings, and The Newsroom.

Honestly S01E01 of The Newsroom may just be the best. The opening sequence where Will goes off on the sorority girl is just brilliant.

The first time a TV show made me choke up IRL. Watching Green break after he gets on train (last scene)....done.
BTW, Bradley Whitford from West Wing plays the father of the baby. Watching him slowly realize it's going bad is impressive as well.

Ozymandias (Just perfect television)

My Fallen Idol (This is the episode that perfectly shows why Scrubs is one of the most versatile and best shows ever)
