I thought it was good. Criticisms aren’t necessarily wrong though. Dave just doesn’t care. I’m glad to get regular specials from him. They have morphed more into a story time compared to a classic standup routine.

Overall I still enjoyed it.

Pretty sure you are taking this out of context. What is the reference?

It was ok. One thing him and Segura do that annoy the shite out of me is brag about how rich and famous they are in their sets now. No one wants to hear that shite from anyone, let alone a comedian.

It was pretty bad. Dave no longer makes comedy for mass audiences

He’s now only making comedy for blacks. From the kapernick jacket to the Jack Johnson shite, he’s only talking to black people

So close minded. He shits on everybody. I’m as white as they come and far from left leaning and still find a lot of what he has to say amusing, funny, poignant, and yes at times preachy and off putting. But I still enjoy his stuff.

There's plenty of legitimate gripes to be had and hypocrisies to tackle in the US, but trying to claim you think you have more freedom of speech in Saudi Arabia than here is like so fricking off the reservation it invalidates pretty much any other point you think you are making.

I’m surprised we’ve made it this far in the thread without concluding that this was a Saudi marketing stunt. Didn’t seem too veiled

Without going into any of his particular messages/bits, his delivery has completely shifted and just isn’t funny.

I saw him live at the Toyota Center in Houston a few years ago. His show started two hours late (including openers). He did about 30 minutes of bad, preachy stand up then he took a smoking/drinking break labeled as intermission. For about 30 minutes some random dj came out and played rap music while Dave did whatever he was doing. Came back out and did another 15-20 minutes of bad standup and peaced out. Easily the worst live comedy experience I’ve had and I’ve seen Joe Rogan live.

Killin them Softly is my favorite comedy special of all time...that being said the Chappelle netflix era freaking stinks. I'm happy for him that he can do whatever he wants on stage but this isn't standup.

Was thinking the same thing. KTS was and still is one of the funniest comedic performances i've ever had the pleasure of laughing through. Raspy voiced, old man Dave just hasn't held up to what he once was. I didn't even know he was doing a special until it was already released.

I haven't watched much of this special outside of a clip or two on youtube but it seems like it's a bit more of the same from Dave recently. He's had a few bits that felt like old Dave (we want our money back! You'll never get your money back. I wanna buy chewing gum so people can chew it and still be hungry) but he just hasn't been the same. It's a shame too because DC is one of the greatest of all time in comedy but he's clearly lost his fastball.

Dave is always working toward a special. It seems like the last several that he put out were not announced ahead of time and were just released on Netflix.

Fwiw Ricky Gervais has a new special coming out 12/30. I can almost guarantee you it’ll be much funnier than the political sermon Dave just served up. For my money Gervais doesn’t miss very often

Subjectively speaking of course, Im sure there’s people in here that don’t find him funny etc. personally I love Gervais’ specials

I'm not sure I've ever seen Gervais not deliver.

I watched this one. I didn't really care for it as I was hoping for more jokes and less commentary. I guess that's just what he wants to do now. I'll still watch the next one he puts out, but I'll just watch old stuff again instead of playing this one over. I don't think I'm Dave's target demographic for this special.

I like listening to Chappelle. I think he's a fantastic storyteller. And will go down as one of the greats.

But I'm sick AF of people worth a hundred million (Chappelle) or a billion (Beyonce) talking about oppression and victimhood.

GTF out of here with that. I'm just trying to retire without starving.

But he makes fun of the “victim hood “ folks. That’s what keeps me watching.
