Was the first one good? I've never heard anyone talking about it.

There's a target audience for that movie, you are definitely not it.

But with Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt in the same movie do i really have to say no homo?

not to mention Giselle Bundchen and a dozen other fine models.

Guilty pleasure movie for me. A young Anne Hataway was finer than frog hair

The whole Miranda doesn't remember me angle seems silly out of context.

Yea, are they going with her having dementia? Miranda was a mastermind that would never forget something like that

It makes perfect sense that Miranda wouldn't remember or at least would act like she didn't remember. Miranda considered them all so beneath her that she barely looked at them. The whole point of the assistant was that they come and go so much that she calls them all Emily regardless of what they are named.

Outside of the Vincent Chase boyfriend angle I thought the first one was really good and I have watched it a dozen times probably.

No homo.

agreed. Light movie that was fun to watch. And rewatch. Only there is no way Andy would have left that job for some shite beat writer position at a small paper.

No woman is giving up all those shoes and clothes. A million girls would kill for that position.

I liked the Harry Potter drama.

I gave her an impossible task. A job no one could have pulled off

I find it funny that Graham Norton, a flaming gay man, was up for the role, but was passed over for Tucci, who is not gay.

I also like the original. Tucci & Grenier are really the only likable characters. I love the term Andy uses to describe all the other girls at Runway: “The Clackers.”

Tucci on the Norton Show:

Really, really liked the first one. I dont think the 'unlikable' trope is specific to fashion-its more in line with incredibly high achievers in any industry. They are unlikable to many, but laser focused on the goal. Hathway's character got sucked into all that without even realizing it until she had her epiphany and realized she didnt like what she had become before deciding to walk away when most people would just keep 'grinding' away at the cost of their own genuine happiness.

This is one of my favorite movies. May get down voted. It's very quotable. Stanley Tucci is great and well as Streep.

I'm just wondering what brings Andi back into that den of vipers.

Emily Blunt running the whole show at Runway as an online publication is going to be outstanding. She's such a genuinely sweet person IRL (by all indications) that it's hysterical to see her play a seething, toxic bitch.
