All I was expressing is that Diane Keaton was great as Kay in the movies. I’ve read the book many times.

100% true. But she seemed younger and stayed very relevant. She's how I hoped to age. If any, she's had minor work done and she always has seemed healthy because she looks so good. But most likely, like most of her age, she smoked for at least a while and being a single woman in NY and Hollywood in the 70s, lived a little too hard.
But yes, after 75 or so, it could happen at any time.
