Yeah, it was very dumb. Especially having Anna tell her boss something like "it's a dead girl in Dahlonega, of course, she's white." But they did need her character to be an outsider to not know any of the victims/suspects, so they made her a waaaay outsider.

Finished this last night. What a freaking retarded ending

The show was fine enough leading up to the finale but the finale went off the rails with that dumb twist.

I like me some John Bernthal but his character was such an idiot. He just did literally the worst thing a detective could do one decision after the tother the entire series. Turns out that was not even close to the dumbest thing in the show after the finale.
I'm still laughing about the killer mom.

My wife and I watched this while we had snow/ice the last week. I admit drinking pretty heavily while watching, but we completely missed anything about Catherine being Lexi. What were the clues we missed?

His character should not have been allowed to be the lead detective on the case. He had personal relationships with several of the women in the clique: His estranged wife, his sister, and the first victim. His bosses knew about the first two. In real life, he would have been pulled off the case.

There wasn't one until the 4th or 5th episode unless I really missed something. In one of the first episodes the husband mentions that Lexi had a sister that had passed some years back. Then when Indian detective is looking into Catherine she sees that her sister had died. That's when I made the connection

The first five episodes were fine. The table was being set. Episode six went off the rails, and crashed the series.

Agreed. Those bitches got what they deserved, but should have been much worse. Honestly kept thinking throughout it Anna and Jack could have been the killers. They could have made that work just fine with some of the clues we were led along with. Anna asking Jack if he knew the victim in episode one. Jack going through the phone and misdirecting his partner. Anna’s conversations with the Asian bitch and Jack’s sister. Guess the biggest hole in that would be Jack’s sister getting offed by them. Maybe show a flashback of Anna telling Jack what happened after they lost their child so he decides his wife’s revenge was more important. Then wrap it up at the end with them killing Catherine, but framing her as the killer. Whoever decided on that ending really fumbled on the goal line.

For us it wasn’t really any specific clues. Her husband was acting suspicious and after showing the fat chick in a video or flashback early on there was never any mention of her as an adult. It was more of a hunch on our part.

Led along? I think they were punching you in the face with them. IMO, it was pretty obvious it wasn’t either of them because they were making it so obvious.
That’s why the fat girl as the killer twist would have been just fine. Wasn’t great but wouldn’t have ruined the show.
Curious if the book had the retarded double twist. I’m assuming it did, the letter at the end was very bookish.

Also, how inept is the sheriff? He just let the detective do whatever the hell he wanted.
How did the investigation end with Lexie being killed? The husband was still alive correct? Wouldn't his lawyer try to bring up the fact that Lexie possibly had alibis for the murders?
