If you watched Rebels you’ll know there is a perfect way for them to do this but unfortunately Disney has soured people on the Multiverse concept in Marvel so who knows.

The old ship was destroyed. This is a new razor crest. Id assume he bought or had one built sometime after season 3.
The starfighter probably didnt have enough storage for him.

I think this is another case of Disney making a movie or show where they expect everyone to have seen all of the other properties.
We saw this with Ahsoka in people sort of breaking on if they thought it was good or not based on if they had watched Rebels. In Solo, I think a ton of people were caught off guard by seeing Maul, because for most of the movie going public he died in Phantom Menace. Unless you watched Clone Wars and Rebels you wouldn't have any indicator that he was still around.
Maybe this will be different, because it is a direct connection to a Disney+ show and they expect that to drive the viewership as opposed to expecting it to draw just because it is a Star Wars movie.
