Splash. Tom Hanks as a comedic actor in the '80s >>>>> Tom Hanks playing dramatic roles in the '90s.

I said "joe"...lots of votes for Road to Perdition, and I love this movie, but I don't consider it "underrated". I think it was highly critically acclaimed, and it grossed over $100,000,000 in the US.

The Man With One Red Shoe! Gotta be near the top. Money Pit is great too, but don't know if it's underrated.

Road To Perdition was on my Top 20 when we did the 00s voting.

Joe V. was on my Top 20 when we did the 90s voting.

So nether are underrated, cause I rated them.

it's a sin that Road to Perdition didn't get more noteriety come awards season...that movie was fantastic.

That Thing You Do! was very, very underrated as well.

The Ladykillers was rated properly though. that was a piece of shite.

By far my favorite actor.

This is a really good thread bc you could go with a few of them that were already named.

I think the Burbs is a cult classic. It may have not gotten alot of theatre recognition, but it caught on. So it's hard for me to call it underrated now.

Road to Perdition had a great cast and really was a beautiful movie, but it didn't get much acclimation. But it was still heralded as a good movie, but as someone said earlier people forget it exists.

Joe V the Volcano would be my pick bc people that I know still hate on this movie. These are also people who like Hanks in just ab everything.

He was great in Catch me if You Can, but as an astute person pointed out already he was mainly just used to accompany, but not overshadow Leo.

The Ladykillers is another one that is very underrated. It got terrible reviews but Hanks was killer.

Burbs is terrible.

The Man with One Red Shoe is worse.

Joe vs. the Volcano is the worse movie I have ever seen.

Tom Hanks deserves an Oscar for A League of Their Own and Saving Private Ryan.
