Since Marty is basically the only character left that I want to see make it out alive, it’s all but guaranteed that he’ll die in the final episodes. The man’s composure is second to none.
The only thing that upset me about Darlene’s death is that she didn’t suffer. Lol.

The show spent three plus seasons building up Omar as the final villain they’d need to outsmart and then he just goes away more or less? Hopefully they do more with Javi because he feels just like Del from season 1.
I'm not excited at all about Javi. Del was awesome and I like Omar for the reason you said but it's too late in the series to change the main villain to this guy. He's just annoying to me he doesn't have any gravitas

I think what happens in the wreck............father and mother dies, children take their place. Just look at it, the son is seriously a duplicate of his father, the daughter just like her mother. Bookmark this.

I think that's why the scene where the Byrdes threaten his children was so important. Javi is going to be the wildcard to start, but Omar is still the big bad.

As an Ozark fan, the implausibility of this season annoyed me. I love the characters but the writing not so much.

One thing that kept taking me out of the show was how Javi was used. Not only is it crazy how he just shows up everywhere he needs to be, but it's weird that the guy that is close to the top of the cartel, and now at the top, is still acting as the muscle. Maybe that will change in the second half now that he is at the top of the family.

I was always 50/50 with this show, especially after the wife's role became more prominent. This season's absurdity killed it for me. I can't watch anymore.
I pretty much only like Marty, but that's because he's Jason Batemen.

Jonah is aggravating to me.. he doesn't like what his mom is doing but he launders too..
Like just go with the flow man. Don't be a b*tch.
No one likes Wendy but they are all guilty in some form.

Agree Jonah is horrible this season. At first he seems like a weirdly mature and pragmatic kid, but then saw firsthand how utterly unstable Ben was a d the real danger he posed to the family, and knows well the extent of that danger, yet fails to understand why it was necessary to the point of outright rebellion. Some degree of discontent would have been believable but not nearly this much of a problem.
But I have enjoyed the season overall.

Javi is horrible. How can anyone associated with any Cartel just tool around town and kills random people. He just shows up everywhere, is not on any police/FBI radar, killed a sitting Sheriff (terrible), a takes out Darlene? Darlene has millions in poppies and has no security or even workers. When they were first introduced there was plenty of people around, I guess she killed them all. I really like this show, but it does suspend believability.

I agree.
He needs to go with the flow for his own good.

Not to mention that the FBI is in town, knows the Byrdes work for Navarro, but he's able to just freely fly his plane into the local airport several times. The whole FBI angle this season seemed absurd actually. Agent Miller going on Navarro's plane alone. Meeting a kingpin without any security in a shopping mall. Then, I thought they were meeting Javi to trap him at the end. How did he get away to go to Darlene's house?

I really loved s1/S2 of this show. This just seems like a show meant for 3 seasons and be done. The story is beyond absurd and logical at the point. It felt like a chore watching S4 part 1.
Wendy and Marty both end up dead at end of series. That conversation with the kids in the tomb was heavy handed foreshadowing.

The problem for me is that the actor is 18 and not a believable 14 year old at all.

I'd like to see Ruth and the kids make it also, but not holding my breath.

The guy that plays Javi played the exact same character on queen of the south
He might have been named Javi on that show also
