This first episode had a solid start.
I enjoyed the first episode well enough too. Problem is, I enjoyed the first episodes of the first two seasons as well before it fell apart. Hopefully this season will do better.
I understand that Wesley was used last year and is off doing his own thing now, and that 7 of 9 has been a recurring character, but damn I wish they hadn’t used him last season and he was the Titan’s first officer that helped them out.

How did season 2 end? I kind of lost interest a couple episodes in when they ended up in LA.
It ended with the dude from Galaxy quest showing up and taking over for the borg.
I shite you not:
Also somehow the Q's are dead and Q's wife and kids are also dead that is why he was dying alone.

Episode 2 is out.
I'm really liking this season. They are going back to the Star Trek most fans have been wanting. Season 3 is almost a retcon of the first 2 seasons of Picard.
The big elephant in the the room is Beverly's son, Jack, who is Picard's son. It was pretty obvious from Ep 1 but is verified. He's also a solid actor.
Amanda Plummer as the villain is killing it.
Captain Lian Shaw is an interesting character. He's not impressed with Picard and Riker and appears to have made a career of playing it safe. He's getting an education on how to be a "Hero" Capitan.
They are playing heavy on Wrath of Khan which is fine with me.
For for those haters that are crapping on the show without even watching it should at least to a look. You might mess around and like it.

Yeah, I’ve also really enjoyed these first 2 episodes as well. Certainly more than most anything in the first 2 seasons or any season of Discovery.
Also, I got to see Worf behead someone with one of his blades. Never thought I’d see the day

Picard to Jack: “Who is your father?”

Thank y’all for the heads up on the first two episodes. I gave up on Picard, and wouldn’t have watched this without y’all who I recognized from the ‘Strange New Worlds’ thread saying it was like SNW. I agree. The first two episodes of the season were really, really good.

I didn't watch the first two seasons after the reviews, but I'm all in on this season.
It's been amazing. Hell, if you told me a tiny woman could be menacing I would have never believed that, but that actress is doing an AMAZING job at playing just that.
Also... Worf.
frick. YES.

Ok, so I was obsessed with Star Trek in my youth. I hated the reboot movies, and didn’t bother with any recent series after looking into them.
However, watching episode 1 of Picard season 3 made me feel like a kid again. This is the first real Star Trek I’ve seen in many years. So far they are knocking it out of the park.

He clearly inherited Picard's accent. It must be his son

. I hate when politics from either side gets injected with no need.
The first two episodes of season 3 seem to be leaving partisan politics out of it for the most part. Hopefully that continues

So you hated the movies and watched not one episode of any post ST series but you love Picard. Interesting. Seems fake as hell.

Check out ‘Strange New Worlds’. It is the most like TNG/DS9/Voyager/Enterprise of anything recently. This new season of Picard, so far two episodes in, reminds me of those series as well. I watched Discovery/Picard until I couldn’t anymore. This season of Picard shows real promise. I just want to not be preached to and be entertained in a way that those series entertained me.

I think they were talking about the Kelvin Timeline movies.

Solid and interesting so far. A little slow, too much front loaded backstory on Picard’s son and the spy chick but enjoyable enough. Feels more like Trek than anything since TNG.

Just finished episode 2. This continues to be great.
Also, Worf! And it was good to see Worf actually win a fight!
