Sure I guess but it’s still a pretty tight knit group of misfits. I could understand him having some fear about it but not so much that vecna can reduce him right back to being a baby back bitch again.

Let’s just be honest and admit that scene was not done for plot purposes

Man, you’re really taking this personally. I’ve loved the show (including seasons 2 and 3 which people seem to dump on), but the lackluster volume 2 episodes have some red flags of the show ending in a dud. I hope they prove me wrong on NYE because I like the show and, apparently, for the good of your psyche with all that emotional attachment.

That said, I’ll humor you a bit. It appears you’re looking at IMDb ratings in your fit over my tongue-in-cheek joke and don’t fully understand how those ratings take shape over time. Take a look at how many ratings are in for ST5 and GoT8. The number of ratings on GoT8 triples most episodes of ST5. You can rate any episode of either yourself to this very day if you’d like. IMDb ratings, long-term, are subjected to some revisionist history once the story plays out and people go back and rate them. For example, GoT8, ep. 2 had an initial rating of 8.9 and has since lost an entire point down to 7.9 where it sits today once people went back with the full scope. If you make a similar adjustment to ST5, it’s going to be right on par with GoT8 with the one outlying over performed being ep. 4 of ST5.

Again, I hope I’m wrong. You may ultimately be right if they tie this thing up in a satisfying way. Seems like a tall ask to me at this point but who knows. If the final episode is a dud, you’re likely going to see the ratings settle in similarly to GoT8.

Final thought, your post is an oxymoron of itself. You start by saying “no one is saying this” and end with “yall are just repeating things you see on social media at this point.” If no one is saying this season has been weak, then who are we supposedly getting our talking points on social media from? Might wanna check your math. My anecdotal with friends is similar feelings to mine fwiw.

At this point I hope Billy rises from the dead and kills everyone. Then smokes a Winston, chugs a Coors Banquet and bangs Mrs. Wheeler. Roll credits.

Its sad, 2 of the best characters in the entire series were killed off.

Bring back Eddie and Billy and let Vecna have everyone else except Hopper, Murray, and Steve.

So I haven't gotten to the second half of this season - but from the memes popping up everywhere - it seems the bad guy was ultimately beaten by the power of homosexuality. Is that really true?

No, he hasn't been beaten yet... He was holding Will's gayness over his head as his kryptonite, but Will had a 30min coming out party to all his friends, so now he's prepared to slay Vecna.

I'm honestly surprised the ratings outside of Ep7 are as good as they are. Still all above 8.

I mean, the only good episode IMO was Ep4. Everything else has been mediocre and rivals S2 for shittiness.

There were people who realized GOT was going to end shitty after 7 but most people didn’t see it or want to believe.

Season 2 was amazing.

because every episode in season 5 has been great except for 8 minutes in episode 7

Season 5 has been trash. No judgment to those in the minority who enjoy it though - we all have our vices. Yours just happens to be bad acting, bad writing, bad directing, and nonsensical storylines. Do you have fast and furious movie posters framed at your house?

All of episode 7 wasn't good. It did nothing to advance the story at all. Hell you can't even tell if the world is about to end

That's what the 2 hour series finale episode will do.

I was one of those people. But I remember after The Long Night, where Arya defeats the Night King via girl power, that it was all over. And yet everyone all over the internet (including here) gaslit themselves into thinking that piece of shite episode was any good. Then like two weeks later all of those same people pretty much came to the same conclusion.

No, it was over the minute that every single surviving military genius was all gathered in the same place and decided that it was a good idea to send light cavalry directly at an army that could not be scared away by horses and included giants.

The trebuchets being located outside of the very tall castle walls was just a chef's kiss.

Stranger Things hasn't gone quite that fricktarded yet, it's just lame writing.

No, it hasn't.

Problem with Chapters 5-7 is they basically undid Will's ascendancy at the end of Chapter 4.
