It's easy to get a star - you just need money and a name.
That's it. Promotional agencies nominate the star, then pay the fee. All the other bits about X number of nominees and such is nonsense.
If you have a movie coming out, and you're more than a new sensation, it's not a bad time for someone to push for a star and pay the fee to help.

Another issue a lot of people have here is they think this issue is a recent one. This has been a left wing issue in Palestine for decades in this country, Israel’s brazenness in the social media age is the first time it’s been able to break through the entire media machine that softens the reporting on what they have been doing over their for decades. Nearly every civil rights activist you can think of also mentioned and referenced many times the Palestinian plight. It’s been intrinsically tied to nearly every major international foreign relations move we’ve made since the end of WWII. An America part 2 in the Middle East has been the dream since Oil was found and now that pet project has turned into an entity that somehow runs the US more than the other way around.

I'm not conflating them. I'm just saying why i think there's anti-jewish/Israel amongst both groups. i think true antisemitism (just hating jews for being jews) is in both of the fringes, but probably more concentrated in the far-right.

that i agree with. The first time I heard Shapiro make the argument that critism of Israel (because it is an exclusively Jewish state) is inherently anti-semitism.

agreed with this. my two most common podcasts listen are Dave Smith and Jimmy Dore. They both HATE Israel. Smith is a card carrying Libertarian and active in the party. Dore is a pure socialist but free speech guy. Smith is Jewish and he can look quote, "I'm jewish and even i see all these dead kids." 10/7 and Israel's response gave a lot of permission to both sides to go full a-hole.
to keep it entertainment related, i would love to be a fly on the wall the first day of filming after Ziegler and Gadot both came out in support of their respective sides.

People started to hate on her hard after the celeb "Imagine" video during COVID and it spiraled from there.
