Showed she had acting chops in The Runaways. And I didn't really mind her in Adventureland or Snow White and the Huntsman.

J lo has been in movies, several and should qualify. I can't understand why she has any fame whatsoever.
I am surprised no one has mentioned Jennifer garner. She has never once been believable and is super annoying. She is Kristen Stewart bad without Kristen Stewart fame.

So a friend of mine recently wrote a rant on Facebook about how it was her belief that Andie McDowell is the worst actress to have ever gained fame, and it wasn't even close.
This post isn't for me to debate the merits of Andie Mcdowell but to demonstrate that there are PLENTY of others who are worse.
Examples I provided:
J Lo
Halle Berry
Katherine Heigl
Kristen Stewart
Anyone care to add more to this list, or to side with my friend? Would like to hear your thoughts......
Maybe I'm just being a prisoner of the moment because I watched The Dark Knight last night, but Maggie Gyllenhaal takes the cake for me. I haven't seen much of her work, but her acting was horrendous in TDK, and was quite literally the only bad thing about that movie.

Maggie isn't that bad. She's not hot, but I think she's an ok actress. The only thing that took me out of that movie is her physical appearance.

GOAT horrible acting performance in Temple of Doom.

We'll just have to agree to disagree on that one. For a dark, emotional movie, her performance is so flat. You can't even quite tell when she's supposed to be mad versus when she's supposed to be sad or distressed. She was terrible in TDK, but I haven't seen anything of her other work.

and January Jones are the correct answers. I'd give the nod to January simply based on the fact that she continues to get acting work. I don't understand how.
Rosie Perez is also pretty bad. And Juliette Lewis. And Anna Paquin has gone down the crapper.
I'll admit Stewart seems bad in the Twilight movies (never seen them), and a few others, but she's not THAT bad in Into the Wild or Undertow. Certainly better than anything Jones has done. That isn't saying much, but still.

But to be fair, look who she's up against: Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Heath Ledger, and Gary Oldman, all of which are legitimately terrific actors.

Rosie Perez is also pretty bad.

True, but most of her scenes were with Aaron Eckhart, who's not exactly Marlon Brando.

Anne Hathaway and Ellen Page don't deserve to be on this list.
Yeah, that's just plain silly to mention them in this debate.

Heath Ledger deserved an oscar just for delivering the line "you are beautiful" in reference to MG's Rachel in the Dark Knight without breaking up laughing like Fallon in an SNL Skit

she has one character, and that character is 100% unlikable to straight male audiences.
I'm female and I absolutely can't stand Katherine H. Her interviews during her "Grey's Anatomy" tenure were laden with too much arrogance.
Lindsay Lohan's name should be thrown into the mix of worst actresses. It seems to me that she is so undeserving of all the chances given her and definitely not worth all the trouble that comes with her. The only movie of hers that I liked and can presently name was filmed when she was about 11: "The Parent Trap". Another of her films that was OK came when she was a teen, but I can't remember the title at this moment.

The blond chick on CSI Miami is miserable.

What's funny to me is that whenever you talk about how Lindsay Lohan's life is a dumpster fire, the inevitable response by anyone (i.e. my wife) is always "yeah, but she really is a good actress." No she isn't.
Whenever my wife or anyone says that, my response is always "oh yeah, name one of her movies from the last ten years." Then the wheels start turning when they realize that she's been in some pretty terrible movies over the last decade.
