Hoffman died of a heroin overdose. I guess its possible that someone snuck in his room and shot him up but he was a known drug addict for years so its more likely he did it himself.

I mean, the guy is the ultimate professional when it comes to the craft of acting. Hes supposedly one of those actors that will do whatever it takes to get a scene, shot, etc and is really a student of film making. I've heard interviews when he talks about the responsibility veteran actors have to set the tone on set so schedules are met, and you don't seem to ever hear about him bitching that he doesn't have Voss water in his trailer. He learned from some pretty big names when he was young, too. And he does the dog and pony show with junkets and promotion like no other.

The Scientology stuff is weird, no doubt, but I'll bet its a little blown out of proportion. As was the Oprah thing.

Doing a search on Google the conspiracies are:

Heroine
Rx Overdose
Combination of Heroine and Rx Drugs
Scientology
Illuminati

ETA: Apologize for derailing the thread for a bit.

To answer the OP: Yes.

It's not just Jonathan Lipnicki who says he's a good guy in real life who doesn't push Scientology if you aren't interested. A lot of other people have said the same thing.

Have you seen what he actually did in the last mission impossible movie? How many takes it took to get that plane scene?

He's absolutely one of the best in the business

I'm indifferent on Tom Cruise, but Scientology has made him more interesting than anything to myself.

I won't go out of my way to see any of his movies or anything, but if the subject matter appeals to me it's not like I'm going to boycott it because he's a Scientologist.

Regardless of your religion or thoughts on reglion, you need to watch the "Going Clear" documentary on HBO and get back to me. They are frickin scum.

Great documentary.

Saying Scientologists are scum though for their practices I think is a bit overdrawn and this is coming from an agnostic. Christians have taken part in wars that slaughtered millions in history. Don't really recall any Scientologists going on killing sprees for their religion.

Another religions wrong doesn't make another any less terrible than it is.

They are scum. There's no other way to slice it.

I mean yeah, they're definitely dicks. Just don't personally believe that they're the religion with most blood on their hands or anything.

He has not seen his little daughter in over 2 yrs & from several sources it's because of Scientology. They forbid any contact with anyone who leaves. He gives up his own young daughter for that? And he is no Jack Reacher if you've read any of the books. Reacher is 6'5" and one big bad arse. Does that sound like Cruise? He wears elevators in his shoes.

This is the most misunderstood exchange in the history of celebrity television. It didn't go down the way the media portrayed it at all. You have to take it in context.

Here is a post describing just that
