If time itself was his demeanor
There'd be no sunlight or a glimmer
Of sunlight landing on the street
Sunsuit girls must be discreet
Sunsuit girls must be discreet
Nursing their fathers locked inside
They masqueraded as his bride
I might like you better if we slept together
I might like you better if we slept together
I might like you better if we slept together
But there's something in your eyes that says maybe
That's never
Never say never
Slumped by the courthouse with windburned skin
That man could give a frick about the grin
On your face as you walk by, randy as a goat
He's sleeping on papers, but he'd be warm in your coat
I might like you better if we slept together
I might like you better if we slept together
I might…

Fantastic song, but it wasn't even their biggest hit.

I think the 'one-hit wonder' concept is overdone. "Two-tune terrors" - bands with one big recognizable hit and one lesser but still remembered song, like Romeo Void, are more interesting to me. Lots of good examples in this thread already.

As to the OP, the correct answer has already been posted.

INTO THE NIGHT-Benny Mardones.

So great it made the Billboard Top Twenty twice, in 1980 & 1989.

Honorable Mention: SEND ME AN ANGEL-Real Life. Also was a hit twice, in 1983 & 1989.

"Voices Carry" - Til Tuesday
“Lady in Red” – Chris DeBurgh
“Video Killed the Radio Star” – The Buggles
“I Just Died In Your Arms” – Cutting Crew
“99 Luftballons” – Nena
“I Melt With You” – Modern English
“Tainted Love” – Soft Cell
“Take On Me” – A-Ha
“Come on Eileen” – Dexys Midnight Runners

All Top 10.

Would have to go with 99 Luftballons. There's something about it...and it's not just the language...it's so 80's and political and even weird for now with the instrumentation.

I'll listen to it whenever I hear it. Midnight Oil is second.

The Firm: Radioactive

Paul Rodgers on vocals, Jimmy Page on guitar

I still consider it one of the most perfect rock songs ever. Not sure why they never caught on.

Dramarama - Anything, Anything
It seriously pisses me off that this song is the only one from them that XM plays. I don't remember what CD it was, but some MTV deal has Work For Food on it, and I love that song. Give it a few listens if you haven't already heard it. You'll like it better than AA.
