Old man weighing in here. Saw the Eagles last year. Paid 350 a ticket. So so seats. They are all 75ish. Tight as a drum and worth every nickel. So your comment about the age of artists' ages is shallow. Last concert was Jackson Browne. He's the same age and is better than when I first saw him at the LSU Union in 1972. On the price issue I ran across a poster on FB a concert I attended at the warehouse in the early 70 s. Poco Batdorph and Rodney and Trapeze. Cost was 4 bucks. 4 bucks. I don't even know what to say about that.

I saw Van Halen for $7.50 in 1981. Those days are long gone

Thank hell freezing over for that. When bands realized they can fleece their fans.

It's ridiculous and gross what bands charge for concerts now. Then again it's ridiculous that we as a society have lost the idea of the value of money and throw it away at new phones every year, new 80K trucks every 3 years, wardrobes of expensive threads that are worn once, 100+ concert tickets, etc, etc, etfrickingc...

I've noticed that the secondary market can be much cheaper than face value more often than not. I bought tickets on Ticketmaster to a double bill of Postal Service and Death Cab. I had to sell them and could barely get half of face value, which was very surprising.

Mick Jones is still left.

He doesn't play with them. Or at least didn't at the show I went to a few months ago. Good show, sounded great, but I believe no one on stage that had been part of the band pre mid-2000s.

The Eagles and all the older legacy acts have older fans with plenty of money. They are still selling out huge arenas so obviously the price isn't a problem. Lucky for me that most of the music I'm into is for poor people so tickets tend to be not too expensive.

I just don’t get paying $150+ just to say you were in the building and watch on the Jumbotron. Concerts have jumped the shark and I’m done with them for the most part.
Smaller venues are the only way I’ll even think about going.
Anita Baker recently postponed her show at Bridgestone Arena because of lack of ticket sales. Well yeah, you’re asking $75 plus taxes and fees for nosebleeds to see an artist that hasn’t had a hit since the mid 80s. It’s ridiculous.

Was looking at the presale for Bryan Adams at my local arena next February and two not bad lower level tickets could be had for $98.97 including fees which seems reasonable.
Two similar seats for Blink 182 at the same venue would run you $271.83 . I didn't realize they were still so popular.

I happened to work for ticket master as a summer job back in 90s. I took a call from a lady wanting Eagles Reunion tour Tix. I did sold her best available at 90ish a piece. A couple days later I happened to get her again ...she was pissed that better seats were available at 130 and she wanted them instead. I couldn't fathom them paying 90 much less 130
