Not country music, but don’t take it from me, take it from the lead singer “We are not a country band, we are a rock ‘n’ roll band“. Sounds Americana to me.

Yet, they're still more "country" than anything on the radio.

Country music is dead. It has been dead a very long time now. It’s just hard to try and stomach this new stuff. I will listen to some of the old stuff still occasionally but I mainly just listen to rock music these days.

Oh by the way if you are the type of person that doesn’t mind a song being radically changed I would make this suggestion to you. Look up the Fenixon album by Shooter Jennings and listen to the version of Outlaw shite he released on that album. It’s way different than the original done by his dad. It’s still Waylon singing but the beat is way different so you have been warned lol. It’s worth checking out though if you are open minded. I love it myself. Check it out see what you think. There is also a pretty cool version of Knocking on Heavens Door preformed by Shooter Jennings on that album worth checking out also.

This recent MB thread shows that Country Music has much, much bigger problems than what you're whining about.

If you wanna knock someone for covers, he's the one you'd bash. I like him, though. His putting out three or four albums a year rubs some folks the wrong way, he can only do that because he does mostly covers. Benjamin Tod took a lighthearted jab at him about it in an interview not long ago.

He does record cover albums and tributes but he doesn’t do mostly covers. He’s put out two studio albums this year and there are covers in them but only a couple. I still contend that his 2016 release “In The Night” is an amazing album and should get way more praise than it does.

It's honestly better than it's been in 30 years. it's just not played on FM radio.

let me introduce you to jesse daniel:

rollin on

there's Z top and john moreland and turnpike troubadours.... charley crockett etc.

if you think "country music is dead" you just refuse to actually listen to what is out there. it's not hard to find. plug in one of these artist into spotify and you'll have a huge playlist of people who you've never heard of before and you'll probably like them.

Zach top is a good performer but all his stuff is corny

How many self referential songs about country music does one person need? Sing about a murder or something

Country music is dead and it’s bad now

What nobody will admit is that it’s always been bad with a few exceptions (the oak ridge boys)

Red Clay Strays are just Greta Van Fleet for Alt-Country fans.

Completely formulaic, generic, and boring. Made for people who don't ACTUALLY love music, they just like to say they do.

I mean... I would call this more western psychedelic more than country, but I've been enjoying Rattlesnake Milk lately:

You forgot mamma going to prison , getting out and getting struck by a train .

Just remember: Memories and drinks don't mix to well....and juke box records don't play them wedding bells.
