re: Creed tour

It’s funny how Creed, Nickelback and Limp were all punch lines, and now are selling out amphitheaters and drawing their biggest crowds. Creed will have 22k in Dallas this week.
Their fans are at an age where they don’t give a shite what other people think and are now bringing their kids.
I saw Third Eyed Blind last month in Dallas and it was packed. Stephen Jenkins told the crowd that they haven’t had a new album out and just decided to do a fun summer tour and ended up selling the most tickets they ever have in their career
Love to see it

'What If' struck me the very first time i heard it. Still in pretty consistent rotation on a lot of my playlists
Their lyrics for "One" are incredibly relevant in today's world. It's like "damn, Scott Stapp wrote this in the 90s but it's more relevant today than it probably was even back then". It's a pretty perfect snapshot of today's culture wars.

They are touring with Wolf Van Halen. How is he live?

I saw Wolfie (Mammoth) when he opened for Alter Bridge last year in Houston and he and his band were phenomenal. He sounds very close to the studio version of everything, and seems like a legit good hang dude.

That's a bit excessive. Switchfoot doesn't seem like a "see them 9 times" kind of band.

Love 3eb. Absolutely love them.
Don’t love any of their material post OOTV however.
That album is a storybook of rich poetry. Too bad Jenkins’ ego got in the way.

Me too. Worst concert I have ever been too. Scott Stapp was shite faced and the vocals were horrible. They turned down his mic to try and hide his slurred vocals. I left after a few songs.

Going to Brandon on Monday with some high school friends
I absolutely love Mark Tremonti - especially with Alter Bridge and his solo project. His work in Creed is mediocre and that's being generous so a bit disappointing to not see him at full strength. It must be so boring for him to play this tour, but the $$$ talks. You could really tell on Creed's work where he was pushing for more aggressive guitar and just lost the battle.
I like a fair amount of Creed songs, but looking at this setlist and listening man there are some stinkers on there. It should be fun. I am very disappointed they are not playing anything from the last Creed album with Overcome and Rain on it - the guitar was better than anything they had done.
I'm also looking forward to seeing Daughtry as I've always liked his voice.

This is where I tend to disagree.
Full Circle was a disappointment for me. I'll never forget listening to it the moment it first came out on iTunes...I was like WTF is this? There was no
"soul" to it.
I think this is where many conflate "technicality" with "strength." You can write the most complex riff known to man, however, if it cannot be digested, what good is it?
While I enjoy some AB tunes, there's a reason AB isn't headlining 20K-30K sold out shows, much less on 20+ year old songs. To me, this shows that Creed's music is timeless.
It's like a spice in a dish, you overdo it and you've got a ruined meal. Dash in just the right amounts, and you've got something special.

I am going tomorrow night
Creed
3 Doors Down
Finger Eleven
Actually really looking forward to it. Going to turn back to the clock to my early 20s.

I think you guys know what I’m talking about. There was a pretty significant amount of time when you would literally be laughed at by a lot of people if you said that you really liked any of those bands.
I'm pretty sure that's still the case... I don't think time has changed that.. other than none of those bands are in their pomp any more...
Equally, I'm sure there has always been a group that have always liked them and always will...

Same. First concert I went to that was "my" music was Creed and Finger Eleven opened for them at the River Center. Second concert was 3 Doors Down. My musical tastes have vastly changed, but it's a walk down memory lane for sure.

I saw them in 1997 in Omaha of all places... We got there when they were just taking the stage... They were pretty good..

Was also at this show. I'm a big fan of Daughtry's music also but his performance we a bit disappointing IMO. For someone that should have the voice to blow everyone off the stage, I found that his mic seemed to be drowned out by the music. To me it's his voice that makes the difference and the way they had it tuned didn't let it shine through. Creed was amazing. Their music translated great, great performance. Finger 11 was pretty damn good also for me not knowing anything but their 2 hits they played.

Yeah Daughry's sound was off, bass sounded great but no guitars and his mic was really low. Then the medical episode happened and they just walked off stage, so strange. I guess it was the last song but he could have said something.
Creed was fantastic, never though I'd get to see them in person after growing up with their music.

The bass drum was drowning everything else out. The only songs that sounded decent were his hits and the one he did on acoustic. F11 and Creed’s mix was perfect. So weird and disappointing.
