I hated everything past Ten until I gave an honest listen to the Avocado album. Yes, that includes VS, Vitology, etc. I've gotten to where I'd rather listen to their newer stuff than the 90's stuff. Like you, that Last Kiss song is terrible.

I remain partial to Alive as their best song. However, it has to be 1b to my "favorite song of theirs from the moment I first heard it" of Even Flow, which is 1a.

I loved Ten and by the time I got to Release on that album, I was done. I can remember wearing out out Ten CDs. They weren’t supposed to wear out. Lol
Hope history is kind to them. They’ll never be the Beatles because there aren’t 2-3 writers in the band and they aren’t first but they are Stones-like in longevity. The Beatles had a decade and flaked out. Zepplin had a decade and death got them.

Black is the song I always found myself singing to alone in my car as a teenager. Still do sometimes when it comes on randomly. Probably vote for that one although liked everything on Ten.

I would replace Evenflow with Given to Fly, Corduroy or State of Love and Trust.
