I saw something that said if our pick isn't top 4 it goes to Charlotte (if between 5-10). I'm guessing that was bs. Anyone know for sure what the deal is with that? Bad news source?

Yes we traded it in the Devonte deal which could end up being the only real misfire this offseason.

Go Spurs. Go Pels. Go Suns.

Then as soon as Lakers are eliminated...Spurs need to lose out.

So, correct me if I'm wrong. We've got the 8th pick, pre-ping pong ball "drop". And that gives us the following odds for final pick position we'll end up with:

1-4 26.2%
8 34.5%
9 32.1%
10 6.8%
Screwed .4%

yep, that is the same odds we had in 2019 and we got Zion.

...and should we lose either of the play-in games...our pick still has a 9.9% chance of being top 4.

That is the same odds the Lakers had in 2019 and they ended up with the #4 pick.

Pretty simple from here on out:

Cheer for Lakers and Spurs to lose out.

And cheer we have the same record as the wizards and Knicks to end the season. That way odds are still a bit higher even if we fall at 12 after the coin flip. That way Portland gets a worse pick but we’ll still have a respectable chance at a top 4 pick if it does get picked.

I’m no mathematician, but would that be a 36.1% chance for at least a top 4 pick this year

That's close enough, but assuming the 9.9% chance is correct, I think it actually breaks down to a 33.51% chance to get one pick in top 4 and 2.51% chance to land TWO picks in the top 4. I say we go for the TWO !!!
