The Knicks win and Lakers loss tonight push the Lakers down to 10th finally.

Finally! Knicks finally winning a few games. Just need them and Washington to outpace the Lakers. I'm confident we will push past LA once BI comes back.

Honestly play-in is a very bad idea from Silver.
Pels and Lakers don't deserve a second chance at all to go PO.
82 matches is more than enough.

TV ratings have been excellent for the play-in games so far. It’s not going anywhere

Looks like a coupla more Lakers sitting out tonight. Good chance for LeBron to score 40 or so, and still lose by at least 20.

I think the Knicks are going to outpace the Lakers the rest of the way based on schedule. The Wizards have an easier schedule too, but they don't feel reliable.
It's on the Pels to pass the Lakers and bump them down to 10.

I really think that tonight's game is huge. If the Lakers win tonight, then I think that the chance of them finishing 11th in the West would be almost gone, and the chance of them slotting into #9 in the draft order would also be almost gone.
And those things matter a lot when it comes to our odds of getting the pick. If the Lakers make the play-in, then we can still lose the pick if the Lakers win two games and make the actual playoffs, which is not at all inconceivable if AD is healthy. And if the Lakers are in #10, then there's a 20% chance that someone from #11-#14 gets a top 4 pick in the lottery and we lose the pick.

LeStatchaser played 40+ last nite in TOR, WAS tonite is a road BTB. If the lakers win tonight (and thus two road games they could easily have lost) that would really be bad
Posted on 3/19/22 at 9:35 am to cgrand
WAS is also on a BTB though after playing @ NYK last night, which somewhat negates the advantage.

Bottom line. We need the Knicks to actually play hard down the stretch. We will finish 9th & Lakers 10th. Be nice if Hawks & Charlotte lose a few games fairly quickly to make Knicks think they still have a shot at play-in. So, we need to beat Hawks on Sunday & then Charlotte on Monday...Knicks need to also beat Hawks & Charlotte on Tuesday & Wednesday. Get the Knicks fired up so they can finish ahead of Lakers, even if Knicks DON'T make the play-in.
I'll worry about the Lakers winning 2 play-in games and that pesky 20% ping pong ball factor...when/if it gets here.

Really only need 2/3 of us, the knicks, and the wizards to finish above the lakers
Above all the lakers need to lose the play in obviously

yes that would suck nut if they finished at 10 but won two playin games. They’d be 15 if that happened
