Nance is signed for this year and next year. His contract is a good deal and in no way will effect us nor will it need to be moved.
He’s our closing 5 and plays a huge role on the team, at 10 million a year we won’t find someone better to serve that role.
I love what Nance brings to the team, but of the guys making $10M+ he's probably the one I'd feel most comfortable moving on from. Solely due to the fact that we have an availability problem and he's only played in 59% of his games since 2018

I swear I remember at one point Griff
saying the tax would not deter the team from making the right moves. It may have been just before the season. Pretty sure I didn’t imagine it, stroke or no stroke. Course, maybe I was on acid.

Yeah he said that but it was Griff speak.
The tax is very much a deterrent

I remember Griff saying he was pleased with the "pieces" we have on the team right now and we would make very few changes if any this offseason. Am I dreaming that?

He did say that. He said we needed tweaks to the roster. But he also said we needed a rim protector and were going try to find one in free agency.

The Trail Blazers are waiving forward Trendon Watford, sources tell ESPN. Watford, 22, had two productive seasons with Portland and joins the free agent market with some upside value for teams.
Could be a sneaky good get for the minimum and bring him back home.
Shot .391 from 3 last year albeit on 1 a game

We should be all over that

Watford would be a great get for cheap. Surprising move there.

Hopefully nobody claims him on waivers, we don’t have a TPE to take him into so we would have to hope he clears waivers.

His on/off numbers were terrible for the Blazers last season. I don't know if that just means that he was a poor fit in Portland, or if it means something more.
According to Cleaning the Glass, the Blazers were a -6.8 per 100 possessions with him on the floor, and they were only -2.6 with him off the court.

To be fair, the Blazers were pretty bad last year as a whole.
I think he would do well in NOLA. He's not the best defender but he's a decent rebounder, can stretch the floor some, and with his exp can start in a pinch if/when Zion is injured. Should be cheap to get and he's got ties down here. Went to LSU, from Alabama, played with Larry and CJ.

Cam Johnson's deal is going to be the one I'm paying attention to this offseason. It's going to tell us a lot about how much it's going to take to extend Murphy. Murphy is clearly the better player and should get at least 25-30 mil more than Johnson.

Murphy is getting the max.

Per multiple sources: UFA Dario Saric to Warriors is high probability - 'likely' according to one source Why? 1) Stretch 4; 2) High hoops IQ w/sound all-around skills; 3) Age (29) fits team's win-now approach that borders on desperation

With this new CBA teams are not going to hand out max contracts like skittles anymore. You will probably only see 1 maybe 2 per team once everything levels out.
