There is a procedure called pleurodesis where a surgeon can use talc to cause irritation to seal the space between the lung and the pleura which reduces the incidence of future pneumothorax(collapsed lung).
Usually requires general anesthesia and thoracoscopy.
That would put him out several weeks probably if it became necessary to prevent further issues.

This is twice in 2 years. I feel like it’ll be a longer timeframe than a month

Can’t he just wear a vest and fix in offseason

No other franchise has had the level, and type, of insane injuries we've had. I still don't think Asik has been located since he went to Mexico and never played again.

Bryce Dejean Jones was shot and killed. I don't think it gets worse than that.

I’m honestly so ready for this team to be sold to some Seattle area blue haired, lgbtq owner, so I can just completely move on from this cursed franchise.

He’s been struggling for breath during the last couple of games.

How often do we see this on a basketball court? Only the Pelicans...

Well this is not good. Not the news I was expecting to see when logging on today, but probably should just expect a new injury after every game at this point.

Man. Just no words. The Pels just cannot catch a break.

Hope CJ recovers fully and quickly. The start of this season was the best CJ we’ve seen in a Pels uniform in my opinion.

guess he can't play through that one...

but this is exactly what i afraid of... basically one of the three rotating out of the lineup with an injury... at least with CJ, it's an ACTUAL injury, and he'll likely come back as soon as possible, rather than "not feeling like CJ" for a while

He will try his best but just so you know, last time he had the same injury he was out for 6 weeks. So I would put his timeline somewhere around mid-December.
