It’s kind of…bizarre.
They’ve just been raving over Jaxson and NAW and Trey.
Do we take anything from this? Were those raves total horseshite? Or is this just preseason and Willie is trying to throw bones to vets and try hard players?

I think you may be looking at it wrong, it's not NAW vs. Temple. This says to me they plan to start out with NAW in a bench role. The same as Jaxson. Willy didn't just jump from 3rd to 1st on the depth chart. They probably want the bench unit to build/show some chemistry.

It would not shock me if he ends up leaning heavily on Satoransky, JV, Hart, and Temple a lot this season.
I mean think about it, Willie Green was that vet guy that stayed in the league because of his vet savvy, and he came up under Monty that has it in his bones to trust the high IQ vets and the savvy blue chip guys, like Willie, when he chose him over Marco Belinelli consistently(which frustrated Marco).
People need to keep this possibility in play. Temple, Billy, and Naji getting the trust from a blue chip player like Willie, coming from he Monty coaching tree is kind of on brand.
