What would make the most money over time? Building a winner or having Jimmy Butler for 2 months.
So shortsighted.
So shortsighted.

Love isn't a marketable star. Sorry.
None of the trades involve AD right Crewz? Cuz I'd melt. Hard.

Blake, Love, and Jimmy Butler make the most sense.
One is too expensive to build a good roster around, one is fricking broken down and one is a head case who will leave after this year.
If it ends up being Love, I will not watch another game or give any money to the team until he is gone.

This franchise is absolutely fricking retarded.
Completely shortsighted. Can’t look past this year’s ticket sales to do a build right.
And there is a decent bit of data suggesting that you are better off putting out a young exciting team that projects potential than you do putting out a late lottery team that no one believes has any upward potential.
Especially when you start talking about the payroll cost to maintain such a low ceiling.
If they really go down the strategic path of trying to recreate the scenario veto'd Lakers trade would of generated, I'm out.
I guarantee you you will be filling nearly as many seats with Ja Morant and/or Zion as you will with a 9 seed squad with volatile turnover year over year that costs twice as much to maintain. If thats where we're trending give Seattle their next shot. These people are clueless.

I’m going to withhold judgment until something actually happens.
But their supposed thought process right now is disturbing beyond belief.

You can't control the former, though.
Of course a great movie would make a ton of profit over enough time, but you can't control that. You can control putting bankable stars inside of that movie and selling that to the public.
Its lower ceiling in most cases, but its also higher floor. For every Manchester by the Sea, where it makes 100+ million and cost just 9 mil to make, there are a ton of low budget movies without huge stars and superheroes that just don't make back their money.
Conversely, you do a crap superhero movie with a star and you are guaranteed to make your money back. Just a question of how many times over.
It sucks, but that's business.

Yea, I'd prefer to not have either of those three names. Also, I wonder how our friends in Boston would feel if we sent, say Randle and Niko to Philly for Butler. Philly gets better.

What's gayle's digits. I'll set her straight

Except Mirotic’s whole page has pelicans references

They can get a better deal for butler and are we trading Jrue bc he and butler are pretty identical with how they play only difference is jrue isn’t toxic

Is Mirotic playing tonight?

there was little chance randle would be here next year unless they won bid (and AD stayed). now that thats not happening, he must be traded, now, for anything they can get.
so thats one move.
moore is easy enough to move, he's on a decent deal, and is worth something. he must be traded, now, for anything they can get.
so thats two moves, or he and randle together.
niko is not necessarily a "move-now" player. but he does have value, and could possibly bring back an asset worth losing him for

I have a feeling any moves made with these players will be underwhelming.

I am already not going to get another weekend pack of tickets if Dell and Gentry are still there this summer. I'll just pick a few Sat / Sunday games when good teams are here to beat our asses. If we give up on signing either Randle or Niko for fricking Kevin Love, I'll just find another team to follow and cheer for.
Phoenix could use more fans and I like Ayton. Maybe I'll go back to cheering for a team named The Hornets. Hell I might even be a Mavs fan because my brother lives in Dallas, but one thing is for sure, I won't cheer for a team that traded anything for Kevin Love at this point in his career.

I get everything you're saying. But my question is still WHY?
Gayle doesn't have any fricking shareholders or board to please. She holds all the cards. She's worth literally billions, why the frick does she care about have a few less millions?
Ok we lose a few million per year in ticket sales without a big name...but we operate under the cap until we're ready to go all in. I don't understand the need to make a few extra million (while simultaneously increasing costs) when you're profiting 10s/100s of millions per year between the Pels and saints

NOLA isn’t recovering from a multi year tank rebuild. Our legitimacy is barely hanging on now
Posted on 1/30/19 at 5:01 pm to JohnnyKilroy
Maybe they really want to win. They’ve done a poor job but they are definitely trying. They get an A for effort!
