Everything else was awful. Pretty much nobody else improved.

I think we need a new coach.

Don’t forget Herb. He really showed a lot of usefulness on offense towards the end of the year.

I’d also add Jose. When the team was a top team in the West, Jose was playing like the 2nd best player many nights.

His play at the end of this season was awesome

If Herb could become/remain a consistent good (not even great) 3 point threat it will go a LONG way

Agree completely.

This season showed the path forward centers on BI, Trey, Herb, Jose and Dyson

Need one of the cap gurus to post that information for next year. Think that is fairly positive, too. Getting off of DG should help with that. We should be fairly flexible since we don’t have any bad contracts. I’d also say that CJ gutting it out this year may help the younger guys learn how to be a pro.

Zion laughs at this

Dyson is young, but he doesn’t appear to be anything close to ready. Willie played Kira over him last night. That isn’t a good sign. But again, he’s still young.

Overlooked silver lining that Herb didn't make another leap to All Pro or DPOTY in year 2. He sophomore slumped just enough that we might still be able to afford him...

Nah, I know bc of the way the season ended on an infuriating note, you're being hyperbolic, but there was a lot more.

1. For me, seeing the Pels leading the West was the most exhilarating moment all season. They hadn't done that since 2008.

2. The Pels playoff-like back-&-forth battles vs TP3 & the Suns was unforgettable, particularly the home win with Zion's 360/ Jose & That Person entanglement.

3.Jose having 38 pt career high game vs the Nuggets.

4. Trey Murphy's career high of 41 vs the Blazers.

5. Naji's career high 24 vs the Mavs.

6. Jose's incredible show-stealing MVP performance in the Rising Stars game.

7. Trey's admirable & eye-opening 2nd place finish in the dunk contest.

8. Beating KD/Kyrie/Nets on opening night was so satisfying (& so promising, at the time).

While there was a shitload of frustration (multi-month-long innocuous injuries, mental injury nonsense, & multi-losing streaks bc of multiple dumb coaching/player performances), there were plenty of great things that happened this season, some unprecedented.

Somewhere between Marcus Smart money is the best comp for Herb. (1st contract - 4/52, 2nd contract - 4/76.5)

Trey just got himself 20-25mil annually if this keeps up.

That being said, I imagine our team will start looking different in 2 years:
- No more CJ, Nance, JV

That's 3 of your top 8 guys.

Herb played 66 games, so it's easy to split down the middle.

The first 33 he shot 43% from the field, 28% from three, and averaged 2 assists per game.

The second 33 he shot 51% from the field, 40% from three, and averaged 3 assists per game.

He started taking more corner threes, the second half 61% of his threes were from the corners. In the first half 47% of his threes were from the corner.

I don't think Herb will be a 40% three point shooter, but if he could settle a little more than halfway between that 28 and 40, somewhere around 35% and 36%, that would be wonderful.

Would be really nice if our coaching staff called plays for him or used screens to get him cleaner looks. He is an afterthought too much on the court.
