The problem isn't as much Nance as it's the rest of the team. We're not getting much from anyone else.

Imagine thinking that someone saying Zion is better than BI is their "worst take ever" That's funny.

Saying he’s better is not crazy. Saying it’s not close is.

Not as funny as thinking BI it is so much better than Zion.

ive seen lots of people on here and twitter say we lost due to giving up offensive rebounds when we only gave up 10. phx averages over 12 per game and we just beat them in a game where they got 19. the rebounding was more than good enough to win tonight. the refs are solely to blame for this one. a 22 FT discrepancy for the team who shot 11 more 3s is insane i guess it's not all that surprising though considering the point spread opened at phoenix 4 and they won by yep 4

Both are equally crazy because both are equally wrong.

There is no world where BI is better than zion. There just isn't.

These last 10 games have shown that Ingram is not in zions league

Just like in the last Jazz game, we lost because Nance can't get defensive rebounds against bigger centers. Larry Nance is only 6'8", and it is what it is.

And if Ayton had played, he would have embarrassed JV with CP3 running pick and roll with him.

Both of our centers have weaknesses that can be exploited. Every team that we face is going to be able to embarrass one or the other.

We either need to upgrade JV, or we need a 3rd playable center, or both.

Obviously.

Great player but again, the debate died. Zion is clearly our best player.

Willie needs to call out the officiating.

He needs to describe how our team is constructed, the stats of the game, and then point out the FT discrepancy. Then he needs to say that he needs to go learn basketball because that shouldn’t be a possible outcome. Take the fine because that is some straight bull shite.

I’m starting to get onboard the move Jonas team.

He was hitting tough shots in the first and went invisible. And his offensive kill us.

If his o can’t overcome his bad d, he’s useless

You really can’t blame this loss on the team considering the FT issue. The Pels are built to go to the line. It is their team strategy. The refs have an overwhelming FT advantage to a team that is built to shoot 3s. The Suns didn’t even have Ayton. The refs ruined a game tonight.

It’s truly difficult to look at this game and not feel we were absolutely screwed. I mean Okogie is getting calls and Zion isn’t. I’m watching CJ get bumped by Shamet several times and no call. The tech on Nance was utterly embarrassing. They actually seriously looked at that foul on Zion for being a flagrant, but Paul’s elbow to Zions face is ignored. It makes these games so damn frustrating when you’re playing 5 on 8.

That's unfair. Nance can't box out the entire team. Most of those rebounds to close the game was by Okogie and Bridges. Only 1 rebound was by Biyombo. We are clearly not boxing out.

10 offensive rebounds to our 4
We turned it over 16 times to their 8

14 more extra possessions than us in a game you lose by 4. Control what you can control instead of crying about officiating every game

It’s difference of skill sets. BI is more skilled and Zion is more athletic/dominant.

It’s a Shaq/Kobe thing. A good problem to have.

Pro Pels Talk:

quote:

In the last 3 games, The Pelicans have given up 40 offensive rebounds.

Forty.

Yeah, it's hard to win games when we give the other team that many extra shots.

When games start getting close our offense has turned into 4guys standing around watch Z . Z is phenomenal. But that’s not winning basketball against good teams . We have to get the ball and players moving again.

Some of those turnovers were because of foul calls.
