If it was good news, there would be no reason to delay it... even on a game day. It's sounding like they're waiting for the game to pass before announcing some more bad news.

I'm just going to say it's likely a team (maybe even NBA) policy that a team will not do a full medical update on a game day... nothing more nothing less

Shamit just said he doesn't have sources on this but he would expect Zion to be shut down tomorrow. Says with him not being at the game last night and the pels not rushing to tell everyone he is coming back points to a shut down.

Unbelievable if true

Yep. I’m fully expecting bad news now.

If our entire medical staff isn’t fired in the off-season…

The guy is going to miss 4 months of an NBA season with a Hamstring strain.

He gets paid a ridiculous amount of money for doing nothing for the team. (Again)

no, it's not two separate strains.
reaggravating it is normal, and somewhat expected.
Sitting out 4+ months is not normal.

Announcing a shutdown would pretty much have to mean he had a second setback. I don't know how common of an occurrence that would be, but I'd imagine it would be cause for extreme concern for the future.

I don't think it's another set back at this point. His weight has to be an issue for the team if they don't want him to play. They probably broke the news to him before last night's game and probably explains the reason why he wasn't there. They'll just said some BS like he hasn't progress like they hope and shut him down.

Depressing. I’m starting to think he’ll never realize his potential.

Oh well. Can’t trade him. Would get Pennies on the dollar

zion will be re-evaluated in 1 week (after the first play in game to give us hope that he may play in the playoffs or play in game number 2, which he definitely will not play in)

or they announce that we’ve decided for him to have surgery and he’s hopeful to be healthy for the season opener next year

What if I actually just decide to be patient and find out tomorrow? Why do we all have to do all this dooming?

I’ve been as optimistic as any…

But if he was ready to go, even for Minnesota, I figured they’d want to announce it or leak it as soon as possible.

I think we are all coping in different ways

In a lot of ways, it’s just easier to accept it before it becomes official

It’s really sad that we can’t rely on a 22 year old to recover from an injury in somewhat of a timely, typical fashion, but it would be more surprising news if he did, than didn't at this point.

When you average about 28 games a season in your 4 year career, that'll break people.

It shouldn't take 2 months each for them to heal.

The worst part is the lack of communication.

Because over the course of pelicans history… everything usually ends up in the toilet and we’re used to it =)
