So... question...

If he's on the bench tonight... maybe even does some work pregame (shooting, post work i.e. dribbling & turning)... how does this board react?

Agreed. Honestly, it should be a fireable offense for most of our FO staff

After 4 years its an active choice by them to be intentionally misleading. You could chalk up the shadiness around the first couple injuries as bad PR but not now. They are being deceitful on purpose to sell tickets.

Like we've seen this charade before?

He was doing that multiple times last year and played a whopping 0 games

Wont be surprised if he doesn’t play for a while at this point. This just reminds me too much of last season.

Depressing. I’m starting to think he’ll never realize his potential.

Starting?

I have a feeling the hammy is fine, he’s just that out of shape AGAIN.

If that were the case they'd say he's progressing and needs time to ramp up. Them delaying it says they either don't want to release bad news on a home game day, or they are waiting on a 2nd opinion. I'd guess it's the 2nd opinion thing, and that could be a positive, Zion is trying to convince the team he's good to go, or it could be a negative, the team is trying to decide what the next course is, surgery or just shutting him down and rehabbing more.

I don't think it's another set back at this point. His weight has to be an issue for the team if they don't want him to play. They probably broke the news to him before last night's game and probably explains the reason why he wasn't there. They'll just said some BS like he hasn't progress like they hope and shut him down.

Not saying they won't do this but it wouldn't make a shred of sense.

In theory, we could still be playing basketball 1 month from now. If it were his weight, he has plenty of time to get in shape.

There's also nothing to suggest he's not in shape. People love talking about how fat he looks 1 week before he returns for every injury, and he returns, looks fine and plays fine.

He has been doing that for a couple games now. Gives you a little hope but that actually wouldn't be anything new. I forget which game it was, one of the nationally televised games, they showed him warming up/doing layups/shooting free throw. He was sweating his arse off. I know he sweats more than most anyway, but he obviously was putting in some work. Although he did look fairly overweight. I'm assuming he is still doing that.

For some reason Bally's doesn't ever show him warming up.

Not allowed in today's world, you have to take the strongest stance possible in either direction!!!

It shouldn't take 2 months each for them to heal.

Why not?

That's a normal timeline for any strain that isn't grade 1, and while they never announced a grade, Woj tweeted very early on that it was not a minor strain, so we know it's at least grade 2.

The issue here IMO isn't how long it's taken for him NOT to return, it's why he keeps getting hurt.

The medical staff has to be accountable here. The two best players, literally hundreds of millions of dollars, have now missed more time than the standard nba player for MULTIPLE injuries. They have two main objectives, keep players healthy and get them back healthy and ready to play. They have failed horrendously at both objectives.

Joel will say something though... I know he's mentioned it before when players were getting close

Pretty sure he said something when BI was starting to get close

If Joel doesn't mention anything Zion related tonight then I'll start getting concerned

I feel like if he had a setback, Shams or Woj would have been able to dig that up by now. Or maybe by tonight

They get that straight from griff when griff wants them to know. Thats why they both tweet the same stuff at the same time
