Jose didn’t have a guaranteed salary for next year.
He might have asked for a new contract and Pels said no, which would piss everyone off, so he better be included in a trade.

Yeah, I think going to Jose and telling him we have two options.
1) We decline player option and sign you to a 4/12 fully guaranteed deal that pays him slightly above the minimum or
2) We pick up the player option and he maybe included in a trade.
I think a 4/12 would be good for both sides even if it seems low in terms of NBA salary.
