Rockets are moving into the future, we are in wash rinse repeat mode.
I think next year has to be different. If we are a 500 team with injury problems at the break, guessing we see desperation moves.
It’ll be interesting if nothing else.

There are very few coaches that can cover for your star players missing more than half the games. Changes to the coaching staff and roster need to be made, but high level results will only come from changing whatever needs to be changed to help Zion and BI stay healthy.

Udoka Inherited a loaded Celtics team. Uncle Al and SVG could have made a strong playoff run with that roster. Let’s see what he can do with Houston

The point of my post is that my high hopes for this team are fading based mainly on our lack of progression excluding Zion last year, and Zion’s inability to stay on the court.
The Rockets are making moves….I get that we are in a tough spot, but they immediately have a better staff than us with hiring Udoka.

Celtics haven’t missed a beat without Udoka. Not saying he’s a bad coach but I’m interested to see how he does with a less talented roster.
Don’t forget the Celtics last season were .500 before they made a mid season trade and have been very fortunate with Tatum and Browns health.

Udoka gonna get Harden's top 10 stripper list so that he doesn't have to harass team staff?

If Willie was just wrapping up his 2nd season with Boston right now, and Udoka just wrapped up his 2nd season with all the same injuries the Pels had, Willie would be thought of as a better coach than Udoka, i have zero doubts about that

but they immediately have a better staff than us with hiring Udoka.
Boston just had what was basically a coach no one ever really heard of win 6 more game than Udoka did last season.
For every issue you found and can speak to with schemes and rotations for Willie, there are Celtics fans out there who were screaming and hating on Udoka for similar reasons in his 1 season in Boston.

Guys Willie is a bad coach I mean he was on a 50 win pace but he let Zion get hurt and let Ingram get hurt zomgzzzz
There is not one damn coach in the league that wins without healthy starting players. Not a damn one.

I don't think Willie is a great Xs and Os guy but I agree, you miss that many games to stars and no one will succeed.
My main gripes with Willie are his no offense rotations, and insistence on iso to end games.

we have a better chance of obtaining political harmony in the US than Zion does of staying healthy....
the only "change" that needs to happen, before it's too late, is that of scenery... we will absolutely regret not dealing him when we had the chance

Fair point. I just felt like we lost more games in the second half and fourth quarter than we won.

The Rockets have no where to go but up. They are talking about spending big this offseason. They have the pieces to swing a couple of big trades. If it's done right, they could have a large turnaround.
I still remember David Robinsons first year where the Spurs flipped the roster and the team had a historic jump. I think they won an additional 40 games. It's rare, but it's happened a few times..
