Posturing.
They want to trade and think they are in a position of power.
What’s going to happen is that they will get lowball offers from other teams like Westbrook and a 2029 2nd for Ivey.

Sounds like its pretty much a lock that Kings will trade 4.
The Kings are morons.
There's no telling what they are going to do.
I'd bet they'll end up drafting Murray.

Which is definitely something that needs to be looked at in the next CBA. A clause that prevents you from being traded for 3 years if you sign a max contract with your current team or something. Because the current situation just makes players sign with their own team because it makes the most sense monetarily, and then just ask for a trade a year later.
I don't think teams would want the no trade situation, either.
To thwart holding out, the NBA is going to have to adopt NFL-style penalties (that can't be waived) and more rigid and difficult ways for players to sit out (like what Simmons is trying). I think Ben Simmons may have fricked the NBAPA for decades.

What would be funny as hell would be them doing a power play by drafting Ivey then end up making a deal that costs them assets to move down and get the guy they really want.
Normally not a possibility, but the Kings are one of the huge clown teams in the league.

LeBron fricked the NBAPA with Klutch well before this.
Ben Simmons is just keeping the wounds fresh in the owners’ minds.

That movie is so unrealistic.
The Browns pulling off that kind of gambit is impossible.

I watched it for the first time a few weeks ago and I couldn't believe how utterly stupid and unrealistic it is...but the Kings reference made me think it's possible for one professional team in the US

Their plan is to trade four firsts to go to #1 overall and grab Murray, then trade with Houston to get back ahead of Orlando and try to get all their picks back and then some?

Smoke checks out since we did have Trajan scouting him personally.
not a rumor, but Kevin O'Connor likes the fit
Also basically mirrors my mentality. Swing for the fences.

IF that's true, then trading down may make sense...to 10.
Posted on 6/22/22 at 11:12 am to SlowFlowPro
Which I’m fine with.
If we see two guys as our possibilities at 10, draft Sharpe for Washington then tell Washington who to draft.

I think this scenario would be if we trade the pick. I doubt we pass on 2 of Mathruin, Daniels, and Sochan for Dieng at #8.
Could go as high as #8 reads “if a teams moves there for him”. Could be wrong tho

MM said either Daniels(especially him) or Mathurin is the most likely outcome with whomever dropping being taken.
Room is divided on Sharpe and some want to take the swing.
Take all with a grain of salt though.

No, they clearly mean the Pels could draft him.

I know this is old shite but didn’t the same thing happen in Cleveland and they took Anthony Bennett?
Not that Bennett helped himself much as he had been injured before the draft and kept it to himself IIRC

Bennett was lazy and that was what made him a bust. He coasted on his skills and Griffin and his staff never picked up on his lack of work ethic that followed him into the league.
