I do, I do have problems with the way certain posters on this board come up with narratives in their heads, devoid of any evidence, and then spew them out like they are facts.

Which you continue to do

Keep believing that hart wanted to be here.

Whatever makes you suck your thumb at night.

There you go. This contract is super unique:

- firstly there is only one year guaranteed!
- because the guarantee conditions for Y3 have to match Y2, Y3 is basically a mutual option that will virtually never get agreed
- this contract is DESIGNED to be traded

Structure of Josh Hart’s three-year, $38 million deal to return to New Orleans, sources tell @TheAthleticNBA:

Year 1: $12M guaranteed
Year 2: $12.96M non-guaranteed (June 25 date)
Year 3: $12.96M player option, non guaranteed (June 25 date)

Interesting deal.

That’s a great contract for the team. Very tradeable

Yeah, likely that 3rd year will never come in to play. This was structured to move him at some point.

*Sits in a corner and prays Josh is extended June 26th after a deep playoff run.

I hope Josh Hart shoots 40% from 3 and gets 6th man.

AND I'M TIRED OF PRETENDING ITS NOT OK TO SAY IT.

Of the year or of our roster?

Because if “of the year” happens then this next season is going to be a blast.

The rare mutual option. I asked several cap people on several teams if they have ever seen anything like it - everyone thought this deal was incredibly unique.

That option will never get agreed to unless both parties feel the player is worth that EXACT amount for that year.

It's actually very similar to Asik's contract. In the last year of the deal Asik had a player option (technically an ETO) and the Pels had the ability to cut him with only about $3 million guaranteed.

It's nothing like Asik's contract. At all.

Pels can cut bait after 1 year of Hart. How many guaranteed years did we give hOmer?

Sure as shite wasn't 1

Hart + Sato is $22 million to send out at the trade deadline. We'll just have to wait until spring to see who it's for.

Is it possible to combine our TPE with either or both of them at the deadline?

can we also include the $17m trade exception with that?

No. Trade Exceptions can’t be bundled. If a player’s salary doesn’t fit in the exception you can’t use it. So a $17 million player or less. Or multiple players on smaller deals if you break it up.
