Snipe has a fair assessment on the draft. Every guy drafted was productive in college and has the potential to be a long term starter. I think we get minimum 4 long term starters out of the draft and 2 or 3 other contributors. Thats a good draft especially if the QB hits.

With all the injuries to the usual suspects we get every year I see at least 3 starters right now
Banks
Stutsman
Riley

Schough was not going to last till round 3. We might have thought it was a reach, but most NFL guys had him at worst as the #3 QB prospect.

This was a great draft to reset the locker room culture. I’m not saying it was bad before, but a new coach wants to get “his guys”.
Our draft had a theme: character, leaders, solid players
It is smart to get these guys in year one to set the foundation and then build up the talent with “flasher” players. We were able to add 9 of these guys year one. That is a good first year draft for Moore.

And all those guys could bust too…

True. Also true is the possibility that all if our UDFA pics go to the HoF lol

I have to respect the boards positivity. Makes me wonder how young the median age is here. Saints could frick up a wet dream and this draft was complete dogshit.

The threshold for “busting” is much lower for position players vs QBs

Wrong. The team with the two biggest qb needs drafted one in the first. The other team thst also needed a qb (Browns) passed on him three times already.
What other teams needed an immediate starting qb right now? He’s 26, so it’s that time already. Teams were drafting starters in the 2nd or looking to.
He may turn out ok, statistics are against him, but either way, it was a massive reach and poor draft value by our front office. They have proved over and over they have no clue about this.

Loomis and Ireland (Dumb and Dumber) had zero input on the picking of a QB, all coach. Its starting to leak out D and D made zero picks.

They tried very hard to hit a lot of singles and doubles, without risking strikeouts for swinging for the fences.
What exactly does this mean?

Broughton, I think can be a disrupter. He did play a lot of snaps and Bo Davis has coached him before.
I guess the Saints will be a multiple front D and he'll find his way but he's interesting to me.
big dude.
6'5 311
you line him up on a guard and you could have something.

Todd McShay thinks the Saints had to get Shough ahead of the Rams who might've drafted him later in the 2nd to succeed Matt Stafford in a year or two. Albert Breer told Ryan Rusillo on his podcast that Kevin Stefanski was a Shough guy, and the Browns could've picked him before us in the 3rd. But I'm sure you know better.
