Counter argument. He may have really struggled early while Moore was also getting his feet wet and then we yo-yo the QBs. I’ll take this confidence and play into year two. It happened like it had to.

Seems to me, the most optimal progression may have actually played out here.

Anyone else willing to possibly acknowledge that?

That’s exactly what I’m saying. I don’t trade what happened for any other realistic scenario. I think it’s perfect.

He's also 100% bought into the Louisiana culture.

What does that mean? Is he getting fat by over-eating and drinking?

You want him to stay long-term? Then buying into the culture is a good thing. I think your talking point is the stupid one.

What about them? 8-7 panthers who just now has a winning record and Bucs who have. 7-8 record.

Both division teams that are always tough games no matter the record.

Some folks on this board
Tyler Shough is 26 yrs old.

For comparison, Brett Farve was 22 when he was drafted... by the Falcons. He was 23 when he was traded to the Packers, started 13 games and played in 15. He was in Green Bay from 1992 to 2007, a year with the Jets (2008), and then 2 years with the Vikings (2009-2010). He had one of his best seasons in 2009, at the age of 40 (that was the year the Saints beat them and won the Super Bowl).

Drew Brees was 21 when drafted by the Chargers, and 27 when he came to the Saints in 2006. He played until 2020, at the age of 41.

Tom Brady was 23 when he was drafted by New England, played 18 years with them, 3 more with Tampa.

I'm not saying Shough will be the next Farve/Brees/Brady, but 26 is NOT ancient for an NFL qb. And if he's even as good as, say, Matt Ryan (who played until 38), you can get a decade+ out of him.

So the amount of points the Saints lost by out weights the fact that they swept Carolina, who beat the Rams and sit on top of the South.

The nfc south is pathetic this year. And usually records don’t matter in divisional games. The score doesn’t matter, but the saints were thoroughly dominated from start to finish against the Rams and Seahawks.
We just beat a third string rookie undrafted qb. Theres a big difference.

You’re talking to a guy that wanted to tank for Nuss or Arch in August

didn’t want Shough but my reasons were valid. I said he was a good prospect but shouldn’t be drafted that high in the draft. This team is devoid of talent. That’s still true. The players I wanted to draft in his spot are good players.

Shuck is a franchise QB who would go #1 overall, the definition of the best value in the draft
